I wonder how the people with cats PREVENT them from cleaning your plates or occasionally stealing from the table.
Leave one person in the kitchen, one person at the table guarding the food all the time ?

I close the kitchen door while cooking. Other way probably my cat would finish fried in olive oil, or I accidentally will cut him with the knife

When I make food & it is something suitable for the dog to eat I do put a little bit in her bowl. She likes to smell what I am eating but she doesn't really 'beg' for it.

Never separate water and food bowls in different room to where we cook or eat and no begging tolerated oddly the cat is a worst offender then the dog when it comes to attempted begging.

No we have to sit separately away from the owner of the house as she gets very upset if her servants look at her directly in the eyes whilst she's eating.

Sure, after I'm done with them, why not... but they (they're cats) don't really like human food much... I think they just want to see what kind of junk I'm eating.

My great aunt has eight dogs. While eating ice cream cones she will let each one have a few lick before she finishes it off. It always freaked me out as a kid, and its still nasty now that I am an adult.
