Do you like any songs that you feel guilty for enjoying?

There's a song I've liked and wanted to purchase for some years, but I haven't, because . . . well . . . it's hard for me to articulate. Let me start by saying that it's called Das Ist Berlin. I've seen the lyrics translated into English, and they're innocuous. The music is lilting and cheerful in an old-fashioned way. But if my information is correct, it, um, was released in 1938. And I feel too ashamed to buy it because of what was going on in Berlin at that time.

I also find myself shaking my ass from time to time to music that is decidedly misogynistic, violent, or vulgar. I usually stop myself when I catch it, and wouldn't really want anyone I respect to observe me.

Does anyone else like a song or type of music that they feel bad for enjoying?

^Hee hee! Kevbo, I can totally see you doing the booty dance to that!

^MoS, I'm sorry, but I LOL'ed when I read your post. I NEVER would have expected you to say something like that! Mr. himself? ROFLMAO! I love it! Now, don't send the penguins after me. You know it's funny. lol

I used to feel guilty and ashamed for freakin to Celine Dion. I guess now that I'm on my own I just don't care anymore. I roll down the windows to my manly car and blast that shit. :D

One doesn't get much guiltier with "It's Britney bitch" playing in the background. !oops!

^Like, someone please be a dear and shoot me now. I beg you. !oops!

I do love this song, we'd play it work over and over again. Britney's "music" is all about guilty pleasures, so guilty she lip syncs to them.

I love the video, too, I wanna hit the titty bar with Brit in tow one day.

I'm not ashamed to say I like Britney Spears, Nysnc, Backstreet Boys, Lady Gaga or Adam Lambert.

Anyway, I don't feel guilty about anything.

I am not ashamed about any song I listen to, cuz all my songs are hawt.

I don't feel guilty over any of my music as well.

In fact Britney's "music" is so guilty, that during her meltdown phase, I created a playlist for work called "Promises" (get it?), and it contained all Britney songs, except for one song that was placed smacked in the middle of the playlist. That song was "Theme From the Valley of the Dolls" by Dione Warwick. :)

All of Ke$ha's songs from her album??

Ahhh... i can't help it.. i LOVE IT ALL!!!

Any of my Jpop collection...I don't want any of my friends to hear it.

:rotflmao: the words "freakin to Celine Dion" are funny in and of themself but the mental picture on top of that is just plain hysterical! Wow. Just wow.

I am guilty of loving the song Huslin by Rick Ross. I sing that song like I wrote the lyrics and like I'm not a straightedge white guy from California ha.

Feels like I'm overhearing a telephone sex...:(

I. LOVE. how this thread has turned out!

The only problem so far is that I'm seeing some songs I wasn't aware it was nerdy to like. lol

Reality101, your post above made me want to see you "get crunk" sooooo bad!

Oh boy. I bet I just illustrated my age. No one says "get crunk" anymore, do they?

RazorzEdge, I was obsessed with that song when it came out. I went to the mall and got to meet him in person and get his autograph. I was one of those screaming, nearly-faint teens. lol
