I find stubble is sometimes distractingly scratchy, anything other than that is fine by me (from clean-shaven to full-beard).

I was saying to a bearded friend the other day that I was amazed how many women told me they didn't like my beard when I was bearded. It seems so odd to me. I would never tell a woman (or anyone) that they should or shouldn't shave their underarms/legs/whatever. Last semester a girl in my study group went on and on telling me how gross beards were and how she'd never kiss a guy with a beard. Of course, I reminded her that there is no way the two of us would ever kiss anyway so her point was moot. I felt bad for my straight, bearded friend beside me though. That's a bit of a tangent.
