  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you like House, Techo, Trance, etc.?

I love rock or alternative songs that have been remixed into house music. I've heard some by Pink Floyd, Matchbox 20, The Killers and Korn.

I really like the Westlife song I posted in the first post.

I was very much into it around '02. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy it, but no longer rank it above other genres like I once did.

One of my all time favourites is still Tiësto's cover of "Adagio for Strings". I know, pretty cliché, but still fucking ace!

YES!!! adagio for strings is the song that made me fall in love with trance...my favorite trance song by far.....|

i've been listening to nothing but trance as of late...mostly armin van burren, tiesto, above and beyond, dash berlin, ATB, solar stone, robert vadney and paul van dyk...i have over 3K trance songs:gogirl:

Not my cup of tea at all. I think House...Techno...Trance...Ambiant...Dance-Club music, etc., etc. is very flakey and silly. No depth and is all about the producers & remixers personalities....sort of like Disco.

Only once in a great while. It's fine when I'm out dancing, but when I'm at home or driving or working out, I'm a stickler for melody and song structure.

Lex

I don't like Techo, Trance, heavy metal .. etc

because they are just too NOISY and just meaningless noise in my opinion.
That pretty much sums up how I feel. It's OK if I'm out having fun--as kind of a soundtrack--but something I'd actually seek out and listen to? No.

Hell, I don't even know the difference between house, techno, and trance. But then I am an old fart.

I love Millsie, but when he posts on Facebook, I almost never have any fucking clue what he's talking about. :D (*8*)

Yes. (!)

Couldn't tell you the difference between house or techno or trance. But this was groovy:

Actually, anything including the phrase "Hardfloor Remix" in the title is usually listenable.

I love House and Techno (I've developed a bit of a crush on Chris Liebing and Dustin Zahn), but feel that trance is like a plauge.
However, If you really want to get me dancing quick, put on some good Drum 'n' Bass (No Jump-up) or oldskool Jungle.

i like breakbeat also...esp. hybrid, finished symphony!
Yes that is a beautiful track!

Dubstep, Jabber, Hardstyle don't require any talent to produce, all you need to do is add the generic off melody beat to it and you have a remix.

House music can be hard to chug down, but easy to dance to due to it's 4 beat.

Techno can be fun, but usually is just cheesy.

Top forty, remix, electro, is just catchy.

Trance, is the most akin to classical music. Progressive Trance, which isn't very popular due to its lack of accessibility, is usually where the you get most fulfillment and talent. Layered beats, interesting tonalization and general musical substance, climaxes are the most intense when you have to wait for it. Usually in 8 or 16, it gives the producer enough time to develop his product.

Yes! (though I consider all dance music as techno/house, so sorry if I misperceive some of them). My favourites:

Basement Jaxx
