  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you like rich people showing off ?

What exactly do you consider showing off? This could mean many different things to different people. Would you consider them showing off if they were to, say, wear custom fit clothing? Or how about drive a nice car? To be able to properly answer your question we need a bit of context.

I want them to work in a rice field and experience hardship
Never mind, you basically answer my question with this. You just can't stand that they have better things than you. Maybe if you spent half the time trying to better yourself that you spend hating those who have..... You would have a little more yourself.

I think some wealthy people have worked very hard for their money and deserve to have the nice luxuries that life can allow.
Quoted for truth.

Well he did say over six figures....so I took that to be seven.
Single digit millions isn't worth as much as it once was. Used to be one could get a simple $36,000 annual return on a simple investment of a single Million into a savings account. 9 Million in the account would increase that to about $325,000 income in the form of interest. Not anymore.

People actually did that? I thought the limit the FDIC would insure for a single account was $250,000.

Well, they should. You're a fucking idiot if you don't just accept what they say on face value.
You can take what someone says AT face value, spit in their face, or let them shit ON your face. But you can't accept on face.

Sadly though, you may be right.
Trust me, I am. To many, $250,000 is nearly a life savings and is guarded like a precious life. To some of us that's barely petty cash, and we don't bother worrying about the small stuff we have invested in banks, because even if every bank in the world failed all together we still have funds elsewhere. We may be unhappy with the way our investments were handled, but we'll carry on. Its like the old saying, don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Well, that makes me less angry then. I thought you were arguing that the government will refund your millions in a single bank account just because you're rich.

No. But they might come looking to borrow it so they can afford to pay out the $250,000 per person. Yeah, it isn't even per account (they're that bad off).

If they feel the need to Brag about it, Flaunt it, as has been noted, "Money can't buy Class!" #-o ](*,)

Oh wow, I'm suddenly starting to feel sorry for rich people now! Oh wait, that was just gas. Never mind.

Don't feel sorry for rich people simply because you assume we will lose lots of money when the market crashes. We will, but if we earned the money we have we'll have taken precautions for just such a loss. Feel sorry instead for those who are screwed out of what little they were able to save up because some unscrupulous fools decided they didn't deserve to keep their hard earned savings and caused everybody to lose by trying to take it away.

I wouldn't call that a rich person. That's a wannabe. You'll find often enough that its mostly fake. like show jewelry. Some people just like playing make believe. Without all the so-called bling they're nothing, and they know it, so they try to make others believe they're "all that".

What they do with their money is their choice. Whether they hide it, flaunt it, or somewhere in between, that's their business.

If there's one thing in life I hate, it's annoyance being used as a facade for jealousy.
