I grew up in Saudi Arabia and only moved out of there when I was 18. I think its an okay country, there are some places which are more laid back than the general public places (for example, women can drive in some places).

It's the only country I know where you cannot transact any business during the Muslim prayers, almost all business is closed, except for a set few (Hospital, Airport).

Overall, there are a lot of stereotypes linked with the country, its not as bad as it seems. However, its just hot (51-52 degree C in some cities during the day), and its a bit boring (no public theaters, very few malls, etc.)
