Do You Like Spinach?

Why would anyone do something so mean to spinach as to boil it? Steam it! salt, olive oil, 2x as much water as to coat the bottom of the pan, flame, steam, eat, drink the juice! yahoo!

Put it in a salad.

If anyone has a Claim Jumper restaurant near them, and well likes eating there, try their Crunchy Spinach Salad!

i don't know how you call it in English, I like it when it's cut into tiny bits with cream added. Usually it's bought frozen. I don't like it when it's still in its leaf form.

I love it!

There used to be a frozen spinach dish that you could buy in the freezer section of the grocery store I think it was Stoffers brand, and it was a spinach souffle. For a frozen side dish, it was so delicious! Of course, I'm sure it was loaded with oils, butters, and gobs of sodium, but still good!

I remember that... and I agree: it was one of the better frozen dishes I've had. They also used to make a corn souffle that I thought was good.

Spinach is my favorite vegetable (aside from well prepared asparagus). Steamed or sauteed with garlic and olive oil or creamed spinach is best.

I love spinach in any form., cooked or raw.

On a hot day there is nothing like a fresh crisp spinach salad with loads of sliced mushrooms and a creamy dressing. I will throw in either chicken, or ham slivers w/ almonds sivers, or possibly some bacon bits, if that's my taste of the moment.

My second best is baby spinach, sliced very thin and broiled to a crisp in very hot oil with a Chinese or Japanese dressing. It goes with any main dish you can think of.

I love spinach, especially steamed then coated in butter. I like spinach best with fish, like salmon.

I love spinach. I'm Haitian, and I remember when I was younger, my mother would make the most awesome rice and serve it with spinach and beef. Ohhh...so good.

It was the first vegetable that I consented to and I still love it :)

same here! boiled spinach is really just... nasty.

Agreed.

I'm not sure what happened back in the 50's and 60's, but somehow everyone thought that boiling the holy hell out of veggies was the right thing to do...

Thankfully, these days we know better.
