Alone when I am home in Florida - not alone and like the quietness

When in Thailand with my Thai BF - usually there 6 months a year.

I've been living with roommates, between 1 and 3+ for the last 2+ years. Right now I just have one - good decision. He's leaving for a month and a half though, so I'll be living on my own for the first time ever. I'm really excited. Living with other people is a hassle and I don't think I'll get lonely. I'd prefer it.

I posted this in the lonely thread also. I grew up with 5 brothers in the house. I went off to college at 17 and met my Steve. We were together 33 yrs. until his demise. Now, I find myself living alone for the first time in my life these last 20 months. I don't know yet if I'm lonely or just heartbroken. I suppose a little of both. I know I could live with someone I was deeply in love with, but just a roomate, I don't think so.

I live alone. I really like it, I love having my own place, especially since I've had roommates since I left for college when I was 18 up until I graduated grad school two years ago. It's to have a place to come home to that you can call your own. I don't really ever feel lonely though. I have an awesome group of friends, and we all hang out after work almost every day, so it is definitely hard to feel lonely. I know if I didn't have a close circle of friends, I would probably feel bored and lonely a lot.

nope i would like to live alone but i work Per Diem(part time with no benefits) and apartments here are expensive for something in a good neighborhood. and add high car insurance and utilities and eating etc Only way i can afford it is to have a mess of roommates or two full time jobs and i refuse to live like that

I live alone and love it. My home is my castle. I never have to put up with anyone nagging me. I can hang out with friends when I want to, yet when I need my space, it's always there.

I lived with family or roommates my entire life. I just recently got my first apartment, a studio and I couldn't be happier. There are times when it is a bit lonely but the peace and quiet, not to mention privacy, are totally worth it! Plus, if I get too lonely...I just go down to the 24 hour fitness around the corner and get a good workout in. I also met some cool people in the community hot tub here at the complex...so no complaints about livin alone! At least not yet!! haha

I've recently been talking with my BFF, a straight woman with two teenage daughters.

We lived together many, many years ago and it worked well.

We actually have discussed what's going to happen years from now. We've decided when she's widowed (probably within the next 3 years) and the kids are gone (5-10 years), and I'm without my Partner (he's way older than me), we are going to move in together again. But we're going to build a new place with two wings. One for her, one for me, with a central core with a nice central living space. We have actually started designing it.
