Re: Do you name your electronics?

Not my electronics, but I named my cars--Scooter and Nigel.

Now that I think about it, my desktop doesn't deserve a name, but my Laptop does...

...think I'll call him Lil' Crappie Bastard.

Rather strange that I've never given names to any cars that I've owned.

Years ago, though, when I was using an ancient manual typewriter (I'm pretty sure it was at least 20 years older than I was), I called it Betsy...

Umm... ok great.. now everyone will see how crazy I am lol!

My main computer is named Borg Queen, my secondary computer used for processing aids at home programs etc. is called Drone, My router is named Hivemind, My cellphone is named Borg Scout. My laptop is called Tactical Drone. Ok these are their actual names when they want you to put in what you want it to be referred to as... I do not actually talk to them lmao!

Awesomely Geeky and cool.

My guitars are named Iapetus (the old red Epi electric) and Callisto (the old Hondo II classical), which are moons of Saturn and Jupiter respectively. The next one will be called Ganymede; it will be a genuine Stratocaster in 3-tone sunburst, in accordance with legend.

Following the theme, I named my stompboxes Perihelion (the Tubescreamer) and Aphelion (the SuperChorus), which are terms used to describe the orbit of a comet. For shits and giggles, I always buy plectrums in pairs and call them Bill and Ted.

The family car has always been called Clem, for some reason.

I call the twink sitting at the corner of the room waiting........ Todd

yea he looks like a Todd :)

The Windoze desktop was George and the Powerbook Martha... George committed suicide trying to run Vista and was replaced by BigMac the iMac.

Cars have a long naming tradition in my family; stepfather's XK120 was Charles and mom's MG was Cedric. I've had Adam Opel, the Blue Hemorrhoid (God help me, a Buick), Sven the First, a trusty Volvo, Bluebird the T-Bird, Sven the Second, another trusty Volvo, and Ringer the Audi.

Surviving the fucking Buick was harder than coming out...

EXCELLENT NAME CHOICES! I'm obsessed with the moons of Saturn and Jupiter...(as well as pulsars and quasars and supernovas etc...)

I think I may have just fallen in love with you. I love the Borg! My hubby got me the Borg compliation DVD for Christmas!

On topic, I only name the really expensive things or the things that don't work well... My glitchy piece of shit laptop is called Philip, after my father in law.

My first car was a white Honda Accord and I named it MS for Mobile Storage.

My piano is PalmFruits and I can't remember what my viola's name is :/ Errm, I named my iPod Fungal Chalk.

My Cellphone: Jennifer Love Hewitt

Often lost in celebrity limbo, but when she shows up, I am very happy to see her "I lose my cell phone A LOT and I can't find it until a week later"

I tease, but not with inability to keep up with my cellphone.:(

Those sound like titles or brands you dubbed your objects than using just a person's given name for whatever random reason. I don't think that makes it very unusual.

I used to drive a old dodge ramcharger I called 'the grey hippo'... well, cos it looked like one. People got the joke, it caught on.

Wheras if I called said vehicle 'bob' cos he's my uncle, then other people might think about the possiblity of commiting me to an asylum. On top of neither knowing anybody or having an uncle of that name..

I named my car Pearl (the paint color is black pearl, guess it only really makes sense to me since I know the paint color)

My laptop is blue and white so I named it R2D2

My laptop is called Mileek

My old Nintendo DS was called Daphne-Sue (initials DS)

she died :(

My newer DSiXL is Daphne2 for short, but her full name is Daphne-Sue Isabella Xena-Louise.

Of course, my car; her name is Katya

No, but I did named my cars when I was younger. They all were named Sally.

No I don't. Every time a light bulb burned out, a radio shorted out or a tv quit working, it'd be like a death in the family.
