I don't have any guns, although I do wonder sometimes if they might not be a good thing to have. There has been crime in my area (even though its semi-rural area)--and if times end being as bad as some say in coming years, crime might be more and more of a problem.

My one worry, though, is that a criminal could somehow get control of the weapon and use it against me...

No, but thinking about getting a shotgun for home protection. I live in the suburbs. There is usually no trouble in my neighborhood, but all this mob activity, with minimal police reaction concerns me. If things don't settle down soon I'm headed to the gun store.

You eluded to a home invasion, most culprits will be holding the gun when they enter your home. You'll be shot while you're still stirring your marinara.

I don't know what movies you're watching, but they are usually carrying a flashlight and a lockpick or glass cutter in the ones I watch.

I have a nice WWII vintage Mossberg bolt action .22 which is not kept in the house.
I use it for plinking and varmints but I don't recall firing it for at least a year and a half.

No guns here. And I want my right NOT to own one protected.

I'm even in favor of repealing the Second Amendment so states and communities could enact gun controls of their choosing. But I know people would just get more guns in Indiana

Ohhhhh, YES. Let's just say more than one and in more than one room of the house.
And, Yes, I know quite well how to use all of them.

Have used hand guns and long guns since I was about 8 years old.
My Mom is who taught me to shoot, and my Dad was sure to enroll me in a youth shooting team before allowing me to own a weapon. I had many awards for sharp shooting, safety, etc.

I have never had to defend myself with a firearm but would do so effectively and with no hesitation if required.

I love and respect firearms.
