I'm like you, Yooper.

In theory, I believe in paying on time, or early.

In practice, I sometimes wait until the deadline or beyond.

I'm working on improving....

I pay all my bills online, I usually wait until I get a few then pay them all at once.

I don't have a credit card.

Stinkin Bank of America.

The teller tells me to sign up for a student credit card when I turn 18 because it will help establish my credit.

I turn 18, I sign up for one, Teller tells me all is good and I should receive it no problem.

One month later I get this letter saying I don't have sufficient credit to get a credit card.

Teller goes, oh sorry. Too bad.

I was confused.

You shouldn't be confused, you're blessed.

Try to live without BofA, if at all possible....

As I always saw my parents do, the bill arrives in the mail, I write the check, it goes back in the mail. All in the same day, no muss no fuss.

I use my banks website, it has helped me a lot

no more postage!

BUT I have two issues, with one of my bills that don't connect to my bank, I sometimes forget

and this month, I had a pet emergency, and so my bills will be paid a bit later

I'm not only a procrastinator, but I'm epically forgetful about things which aren't very interesting. So of course bills, which are not only inconvenient but also dull, tend to get forgotten.

My solution was to put almost everything on autopay... my cable, my gym, my car insurance, and my student loan payments all get extracted without my having to think about them (except to make sure there's enough money in the account to cover them). My credit cards are paid individually, since the amount is at my discretion so I will pay more or less to them depending on my other needs that month; but I still do those online, and have email reminders sent to me when they're five days from due.

With my bank I can pay all my bills at once from their site. But I've had trouble logging in and found out that if I go there from a bookmark is when I have a problem I've become an early payer.

I pay them in advanced and have learned the hard way about the traps of CREDIT COMPANIES and losing money.

Late fees, growing interests, more outstanding debt, and other inconveniences are not worth it.

I deal with bills by ensuring that I always have sufficient funds to pay them straight away.

When I started work I added up all the costs such as electricity, car, rent, etc for the year and then devided by 12. Every month that sum went into a separate bank account from which all the bills were paid.

Something that basically I still do with another savings account for unexpected emergencies.

I pay my bills a couple days before the due date or right on it.

I'm late a few times though.

I pay my bills before they are due. I used to pay them online, but I had a couple of issues with the transactions not being processed properly and receiving a charge because of them, even though they were not my fault. Since then, I pay through mail, but I usually mail a week or more in advance, just in case a bill may get lost.

shit i think i procrastinate everything not a good habit of mine

My mom taught me good time management, especiallly with my finances. School reinforced that also. You are late on one credit card statement and expect your credit score to plummit upwards of 50 points. It can be THAT bad. I always pay the full amount of my bills also.

That being said, one of my neighbors didnt pay her cable one time and Verizon accidentally shut off internet and cable for the entire building instead of her. A lot of people got angry.

I pay them as soon as I get them. I hate owing money and always like to know exactly what I have got. I probably should use a credit card for the cash back % some of them give you but the idea of credit scares me, one needs to be very disciplined to make sure it is always paid before interest is accrued.
