Do You Read All The Posts In A Thread?

If it's a short thread, yes. More than three-five replies and I'll just keep scrolling and see who is posting in a thread. I'll then decide to post or not based on how the conversation progresses (or degenerates). I'll usually post if certain people are active in the thread, and sometimes I'll avoid posting for the same reason. I also do a lot of my posting after work, so I'm also equally likely not to bother because I don't want any potential added stress.

1. Given that there may be 100-1000 posts, I find this one a no-brainer.

2. This is the more intriguing question. I'll real 'em all if there's some kind of dialogue going--if all the posts seem to be forwarding a discussion. But if all the posts seem just to answer the original post, I may skim--especially if the posts get boring, repetitive, or unintelligible--to see if anyone has taken my answer. If they haven't, I'll post my thoughts. If they have, I'll agree with them.

I'm too lazy and some threads are too long. I skim over it to get an idea of what's been said.

1. Do you read all the posts in a thread if you don't post?

I skip the one liners from the post whores. ;-) and read the ones with actual content.

2. Do you read all the posts in a thread before posting?

If I know that I am going to post, I skim them all to make sure I am not just parroting someone else. Unless the topic is over three (or so) pages long. Then I just skim the first few pages and post anyway. The threads with more replies - I assume mine isn't going to be read either.

yes, i like carrots. wait, what was the question?

ive got the attentions span of a 3 year old, so sorry...i dont read about 95% of the posts unless its a topic i find enlightening in a major way

Sometimes....But if I read all the posts I may not be able to answer the thread question honestly without being biased....

I like this one, yeah, sometimes I tend to add my thoughts before reading it all.....kinda helps me stay neautral but there are just those times when I really cannot be bothered reading the whole thing.

It depends on the topic...and how many other posts there are. I tend to read the first few, skip to the last one, post, and then go back and read the rest. Sometimes this leads to editing or apologizing, haha.
