Specifically, in beverages of all sorts. Do you stick to a favorite flavor or brand, or do you like variety? And is it in a favorite cup or glass?

I currently have about 35 types of tea, including at least six green, a few white, four black, various herbal blends, and a coffee-like “tea”. I also like real coffee, but don’t want the caffeine all the time and haven’t found a good (and cheap) decaf. Trying a new tea is a way I often reach the minimum order for free shipping. I rarely drink alcohol but also tend to try different things. My drinkware is similarly varied.

I always have Twinings berry-flavoured teas on hand, but I usually drink Earl Grey. I drink coffee (2 cups) in the morning. Tea is for the afternoon or evening, and usually only 1 cup. I don't like flavoured coffee, though, and I don't like milk or cream in it. I used to put one spoon of sugar into it (nothing in the tea), but now I put in a spoon of Stevia. Unfortunately, it changes the flavour of the coffee.

I have 7 different herbal teas at the moment. Twinings Spiced Ginger is my current favourite.

I don't drink caffeinated tea or coffee, but I keep some tea bags and coffee for my friends.

No alcohol on the premises (I gave up drinking completely a few months ago).

My drinkware is white cups and mugs only.

I've given up on tea and coffee, when i did have it it was always Tetley Tea and whatever coffee the FairTrade lot had on sale that week.

Chamomile for relaxing and it seems to help an upset tummy as well.

PG Tips and some American black teas...Tetley,Salada,Red Rose.

Green tea bags.Whatever is reasonably priced.Bigelow and Stash brands at the moment.

I finally learned not to pour boiling water over green tea.#-o Makes it taste bitter. Now I'm enjoying it more, and I love fresh lemons and limes.

My store brand coffee is either Folgers original or Chock Full of Nuts original.Sometimes Starbucks brand,Seattle's Best or Eight O'Clock vanilla or hazelnut.

Rarely drink alcohol anymore.Stopped soda pretty much entirely. We buy lemon lime seltzer and add more lime to it.

Milk...1% or 2% icey cold.

My drinkware went from every possible kind imaginable to a clear 16oz)Cafe mug for coffee or tea.

I usually have a black tea for morning drinking. A green tea for afternoons, peppermint and chamomile tea for the evening. I also have a throat coat tea mix of I have a sore throat.

I have my favorites

Coke Zero or Fred Myer store brand diet soda

Red Rose Tea (for hot tea)

Winco Cold Brew (for iced tea)

I have maybe a dozen varieties of tea, but usually just brew decaf Lipton or Luzianne for iced tea. I tend toward the ginger hot teas and peach and orange, but do love Oolong and others.

A couple of good coffees are held unopened in the freezer until guests visit. I love coffee, but rarely take it, as my entire family is strongly addicted to it. I'm averse to caffeine and prefer to drink something cold in the mornings.

Have hot chocolate and cocoa.

Have an extensive glassware and mug collection, including wine stems and flutes. I never drink outside social entertaining or dining out, although I have stocked liquor cabinet and do cook with it.

I love variety, but do have favorites.

Mint tea through the day. 8 to 10 cups.

Usually a Guiness or cider or two between 5 and 10 pm. Or sometimes Hot buttered rum.

San Pellegrino for mineral water.

..| I have those in green, blue and brown! I gave my parents an uncolored clear set.

The original intent of my question was about the desire for variety -- whether people make a point of seeking something different or prefering to stay with favorites most of the time. It's good to see the specific preferences too.

I definitely have favorites, so if I had to limit my collection, I'd keep the green, ginger, mint, and maybe a berry blend. I follow the blood type diet which says to avoid black tea -- not something I like much anyway. My partner prefers black (Earl Grey), lemon, and peach. The camomile and throat-soothing teas would stay too.

^ I've tried flavoured coffees, but I don't like them. I don't try new ones. I like fruit-flavoured teas like cranberry, raspberry, blackberry, pomegranate, lemon, etc. I'm not inclined to try new exotic teas or coffees. I've never even been in a Starbucks.

I love going into Teavana and trying the different flavors, but they're too expensive too buy.

Really difficult for me to answer. I seek novelty, but also optimization. So, I like different kinds of baked goods for dessert. But I have found the optimal recipe for peanut butter cookies, and eating so-called peanut butter cookies made with some inferior counterfeit recipe is such a disappointing chore that I’d rather not. I have a recipe I like for chocolate cake, and honestly I never want a different type of so-called chocolate cake.

On the other hand I just tried making chicken tajine for the first time because it looked good, I wanted different flavours, and I wanted to try something new. We’re now in a small window of experimentation where I will change this ingredient or that according to the recipes I find and what I want to put to the test. But after a few meals, that will be tajine from now until I die. Spaghetti has changed once since 1978.

I don’t change the things I like but I do add more things to the list of what I like. Not sure that’s “variety” in the same sense.

I would have preferred the green glass ones. But I didn't find them at the time.I'm a green freak :)

Variety. Though I prefer my variety in long stretches, I'll drink something for a while and then switch it out, get stuck on something else.

I drink black espresso coffee...very strong...usually iced or room temp....some people call it mud...

I like pure leaf iced tea..no flavors/no sugars or sweeteners. I chuckle a bit when I see the "diet iced tea" on the shelves....uh....

I like coconut water...and regular water...and pineapple coconut water....

Lately.....I have had some peppermint milkshakes....I love the flavor...
