  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you sing along while driving?

Hell yes I sing along.

Actually this one time I was at a stop sign, and I was still singing Bohemian Rhapsody, and the car next to me noticed, of course. To my amazement, they started to sing along! God, I loved that day...

Always. I wonder if I can still drive without music.

Funny thing: I listen / sing along to almost any genre of music (Zeppelin to Carpenters to Brooks and Dunn to U2 - anything with a good melody in it). But driving at night singing along to vintage vocalists like Sinatra, Bennett, or Ella really feels out of this world.

No accidents so far.

omg i totally do that! in different languages too >_< ive had ppl laff at me while in traffic....lol

Well anybody listen to hard/heavymetal/deathmetal rock or something like it? How do you sing those??? hahaha

Yep, as loud as I can. But only in the car, never walking down the road or anything like that.

I did enjoy a show, complete with singing, jumping, kicking off walls/a flowerpot and even an air guitar solo by a kid - early 20s - walking on the sidewalk when I was driving up here about 2 weeks ago. I tried to wind down the window to see what he was singing but I couldn't make it. He was having a blast.

It was cute, and so was he - jeans, blue surf-branded t-shirt, singing unaccompanied, loudly, and without an iPod or headphones or anything. When he saw me watching, I got a devil horns and a big thumbs-up (I returned the thumbs-up) from him, without him even breaking stride or missing a beat.

It made my day, in all honesty.

I always sing while I drive. It's a therapy of sorts. It puts me in a good mood while driving to work and then on my drive home, no matter how good or bad the day is, it lifts my spirits again.

I'm usually belting out the tunes all over the place and don't really care if people see me. Though, this does change once I'm out of the car. It's funny how the car can take the self consciousness away for me.

nothing better than having the car stereo on at obnoxious level, singing your heart out and having a huge smile on your face :sing:

I always do. I sing in choir and sometimes, that's the only time I can practice. Sometimes I sing to the CD player or other times I will just get a song in my head and sing a capella while blasting down the highway.

One summer afternoon, about five years ago, I was on the highway and there was backed up traffic due to construction. I had the window up, the music blasting and was singing at the top of my lungs and dancing in my seat. The construction workers were all laughing and I looked right at them and said "Y'all got me stuck in this shit... might as well enjoy myself!" They just smiled and gave me a thumbs up.

I do all the time. I'll sing, dance a little bit, etc. I don't care what other people think.. Chances are I will never see them again, so who gives a fuck what they think!

Hmm, so which one of you drives a red Chevy Cavalier 2-door, has dark hair and dark-rimmed glasses, and was in NW Indiana Wednesday morning?

And likes Elton John?

I suppose that's not something I do. Seeing as how I still have my permit.

Damn permit.

Although I sing when I'm home alone sometimes, doing karaoke, in the shower, or when sleeping something.

Sometimes it's just like an urge and if no one is around it can't be helped. It's also a bit relaxing.

I sing every single day on the way to work. On the way home, I usually have my niece in the car, so I don't sing as much, as I'm usually listening to her speak.

I learned this from my mother. She is tone deaf, but she doesn't care. I used to hate going to the store with her. She'd hear the Muzak playing and she'd hum along or even start belting out the words. In 1994, I was in a Lucky grocery store in Westchester (Los Angeles near the airport) at 12:30am. My best friend wanted to pick up some condoms or something along those lines. I was walking up and down the aisles trying to remember what I kept telling myself that I needed to pick up. A song was playing on the speakers and I started singing along. It was a song by Stephen Bishop, It Might Be You. I was singing the line, "I've been waiting all my life" when a woman turned the corner into my aisle and smiled at me. She said, "I've been waiting my whole life to hear this song." I blushed, looked at her and said, "I just became my mother."

I put on concerts in the morning. If you pass by, sing along! :)

Yes all the time. My car windows are tinted very dark so I can act like a fool in private.

Yep, I sing along in the car.

I'm probably more visible doing it on the highway, but I do it in town as well. Although, I always make sure my windows are tightly secured and the doors are shut, after all, don't need someone else hearing me.

I don't know if I'm a good singer, I'd argue I'm decent, provided the song is something I know well enough and such.
