every sunday

its one of my little traditions.. coffee and the sunday paper

I get two every day -- a local and a state -- and I read the news constantly on the Web. I don't see them as the same -- or at least I read the paper version very differently from the online. I think I mainly go for the headlines online.

I'll occasionally pick up the Economist when I'm traveling, but I never buy papers anymore.

Since the Rocky folded and the only Denver paper became the Post I quit paying for my subscription. Eventually it stopped appearing in the driveway (although it took about 6 months).

I got suckered back into a 'weekend only' (Saturday/Sunday, occasional holidays) for $4.95 a year. I use enough of the coupons that come on Sunday in a couple of weeks that more than make up for that.

Wall Street Journal, Financial Times Weekend and La Repubblica or Corriere della Sera a couple of times a week. Subscribe online to NYT.

I used to subscribe to two local papers but quit a couple years ago. It got to where I didn't have time to read them and they'd end up in my recycling bin, unread. Now I get the news off the TV or internet. I used to like spending time reading the Sunday paper and I sometimes still buy one but there's not as much content anymore. Seems like mostly ads now.

No.

Newspapers in my area have fired all the Journalists in favour of hiring columnists... they are cheaper, not beholden to standards of journalistic integrity, they do not have to cite sources or even have sources, they can say whatever they want because they are just some person blah-blah-blahing, and the newspaper does not have to be worried about liabilities even if they tell outright lies (so long as they carefully phrase it as a personal opinion) -- journalists can't do that. At least, not so liberally.

I think one of the two major newspapers employ 1 or 2 actual journalists, the rest are idiotic Blog Writers who happen to appear in print. That's all they really are.

And to be honest, there are far more GOOD blog writers online!

The rest of the newspaper is taken up with mountains of ads and the last 40 pages or so are personals... mostly prostitutes. Oh, and the Sunshine Girl...

And that's in the Conservative-slanted Newspaper!

What he said ^^

Nope, I get them free in my workplace lobby, hehehehehehe

I've been reading the papers since I was in third grade.I like to read when I eat or while I'm waiting to get my truck loaded or unloaded..

Usually,I'll get a copy of my local paper,The Citizens Voice and a copy of the Daily News or if they are out of the News,I'll pick up a copy of The Post..

Had a flight today from San Diego to Albuquerque and bought a New York Times at the airport.....$6!! Whew...I thought I'd at least get a coupon for a blowjob for that price!

Only every once in while.

The newspapers around here aren't great. So, just the Sunday paper now and then.

I wonder how long newspapers will last? I worked for a media company that used the profits from it's broadcast division to keep it's newspapers afloat.

I'll read articles online but get no better enjoyment than reading a real, tangible newspaper....read the New York Daily News and Post, the Newark Star Ledger, and USA Today ....not all of them every day but at least two of them.I proudly remain old fashioned in my love for the good ole daily newspaper...so much easier to linger over and enjoy the pages of real printed paper over the cold but efficient internet.

I read a ton online, but I still buy papers from time to time. It just feels right having a newspaper in my hand when I'm on the train. I specifically love reading about the Yankees and Mets, so during baseball season, I buy a ton even though I know the same articles are online easily accessible from my phone. It just has a sentimental value I can't describe.

This. ^

I only buy the Saturday paper (we don't have newspapers on Sunday, so that's the one with all the inserts and such) though. There's still a lot of quality writing in there that can't be accessed online.

I'm old school....

I still love my Rochester Democrat & Chronicle each morning....

And I get my suburban weekly newspaper too....

Nothing against online sources, I'm just a Musketeer of habit.....:D

I had my 1st ny post sent to my tablet today. I feel like I no longer need a paper. Anyone else feel this way?
