I have cable, that I hardly ever watch. It's all fake reality T.V.,....

same here...I sure do miss the days when History Channel, Discovery, TLC, National Geographic, etc used to show good documentaries

I despise reality tv

I did away with cable 3 years ago and do not miss it. If I want to watch something, I either download or get for free from the library, on dvd. ;)

DirectTV has better service. No question. Don't know about what they're like in England, but here in the States Dish sucks so bad they've been trying to convince DirectTV to buy them.

Sky tv, has a huge range of channels
Discovery, documentary, crime.
Lots of stuff.

I have cable because my road was already cabled and it gave the fastest broadband connection.
The extra TV channels are a bonus but not a necessity.
My cable provider also supplies me with telephone and mobile service at a discounted rate

This exactly. As well as my broadband.

I voted Cable, Internet, and Video Store, because I regularly watch all three.
Hell, I still use a VCR :)
Best reply so far. Do you convert any of your VCR's to digital?

Um...Riders still suck tho.

We have competition among cable providers in our area, and switched last year to RCN. I've been pleased with their service since I'm a sports nut and hockey is infrequently shown on broadcast TV here.

I was on Comcast and didn't want to leave, as my ex works for them (across the river in southern New Jersey). But the deal offered was irresistible.

Yes, but I hardly watch tv anymore. Sometimes a British detective story like "Vera" or "Broadchurch".
Or I record a movie with my VHS recorder, so I can fast-forward the commercials.
But I prefer to watch the dvd box sets which I rent from the library and sometimes I buy one.
I'm currently watching Romanzo Criminale and it's absolutely fantastic.

I have cable but next to the lowest tier. Maybe 30 channels, very limited, not even all the major news channels, just CNN and Fox. I watch CNN and the weather channel mostly on TV while having dinner or the local news. I turn on Animal Planet for my dog when I have to go out. Last thing I watch on TV was the Oscars.

I do have high speed internet bundled with it and watch most of the shows I like online.
