Do you think Egypt and the middle east are

The repeated invasions and partial conquests of Europe from the Middle East together with their conquest of Christian inhabited areas in the middle east have greatly influenced European history. The Turkish invasions at one point got almost to Vienna and did subjugate Greece and end the Byzantine empire. The Crusades, attempting to retake the Christian Holy Lands, subjugated by the muslims, was a major influence throughout the middle ages. Historians often define the Middle Ages as beginning with Pope Urban's call for the first Crusade. The expulsion of the muslims from Spain was the major turning point in Spanish history, and made possible the financing of Columbus.

Can you remind us again as to how the middle east originally became 'Christian'?

While you are quick to point out the re-taking of the 'christian holy lands', it doesn't explain why the homelands of the Jews and Arabs were taken in the first place.

Be brief please.

According to that trailer video,
all the actors are European, but the movie is about Egypt and i assumed they play Egyptians lol
But Egyptians don't really look like European.

And Italians don't look at all like Native Americans..... But for a time they played them "Indians" in many a western movie/show here in the US.... Hence the term "spaghetti western".

That's just the way the film/TV industry works.

Europe, the Middle East and North Africa share the Mediterranean basin and their histories are likewise shared.

Yes, Egypt and the Middle East are part and parcel of European history. But that is in the past. Since it became majority-muslim, it became a different part of the world then when it had more christians. Just like India became different from the rest of East Asia when it became Hindu while the rest remained Buddhist.

apart of European history ?
If yes or no, why are there so many fantasy movies about Egypt/middle east?

Because their cultures are easily recognizable and as such some of the more popular ones, and that even to people who do not hav emuch interest in history.

The middle east, I guess, became popular with the animated movie Alladin. It brought the middle eastern culture to mainstream attention.

As for egyptian culture, you need to stress that it's from ANCIENT Egypt. Modern-day egypt bears little to know resemblance compared to the time of the pharao. But once dicoverers entered the pyramids, and temples, the ancient culture became popular very soon. Following into the early 20th century it was a common decoration motive, and I guess it just has stayed that way until today. It's not just movies, really, but like the escalator in Harrods has an egyption motive, as does the luxor hotel and casino in Vegas, just to give two examples.

Apart from history or not, the actors portrayals are completely WRONG.

Common Ancient Egyptian people are those on bottom row. There's no way they look "overly" caucasian

Those wall paintings:

Look at the pharaoh face:

and if you believe solely on genetic: the genetic profile of modern Egyptians has been affected less than 15% by foreign admixture.

This is your real focus.

It's a film that is made to entertain, not to address accuracy, otherwise the language used in the film would be the language of ancient Egypt, not English.

So..what's the problem to find actors/actress who "obviously" not ancient Wgyptian but "fitting" to the setting and role like those guys above? Plenty of them speaking English, aren't they?
Those guys..play the hero part? Not someone like Orlando Bloom? Or Legolas?

* The fact: Modern Egyptian is nearly identical with ancient Egyptian

To be fair to other posters, Egyptians here looks like darker Caucasians ;)

That is hard to answer. I guess that they are part of the Aryan race and European history was greatly influenced by the history of the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, as well as of the Jews.

Egyptians were not Aryans. Aryans are only the people of India and Iran. Europeans are not Aryans. As for the Egyptians they would most certainly not look like Europeans they would look like the people currently in Egypt maybe a bit darker with a mix of the more Caucasoid Africans and the Negroid Africans.
