But I have been called cold and callous myself. I've even had friends yell at me for being inattentive to their feelings and needs. I don't know what people are looking for sometimes when they say things like that... do they assume I'm going to melt and become all emotionally available to them after such a statement? For my friends, I try... but for acquaintances I just give them the bewildered look.
