  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you think I've actually made any progress?

It is, by definition, enough. The victory isn't in the result. It's in the attempt.

^ If that's enough for you, then that's all that matters. If it isn't, then do what you want to do, but do it in little steps. Don't jump in with both feet. That can set you back instead of allowing you to move forward.

People have been telling you to take driving lessons and that scares you. So, start out by going to the BSM and then go back home. Later, go there again and sit outside. Later, go back and go inside. Get comfortable with things in tiny steps. You don't have to do everything all at once. See what I mean? Do what you can. . . not what you can't. That will come later.

I can walk up to the door as much as I want.

It still won't help me go in.

Then doing so wouldn't be wise.

I understand where you're coming from. I, too, suffer social anxiety. I know how difficult it can be to do things that terrify you. I can only offer suggestions based upon my own experiences.

How about starting small and working upward?

Have you tried riding a moped yet? It is a means of transport and exactly like being on a bicycle but goes a little faster.

One feels a right idiot but at least it gets you from A to B and is easy to park.

Yes.

I crashed it into a wall. They wouldn't give me the certificate.
