I know for sure EVERYONE has problems.

There is no way to know for SURE if you got more problems than every else.....unless you "walk in everyone else's shoes".

I really don't like people who verbally whine all the time about their problems........so I don't whine verbally..........but I whine in private in my thoughts....... poor me ......why me........yatta yatta.......(everyone can relate at times)

A lot of times in my private thoughts.........I do think that I have more problems than everyone else. ( there is no way for me to prove it .....and I'm not gonna start whining.)

Your thoughts.

I have a few problems but they don't weigh me down.

And I encounter people facing overwhelming adversity daily. So my own complaints mostly pale in comparison.

I count myself lucky...

Also, I think this is worded kind of awkwardly. Who is "everyone"? Everyone in the world? Everyone else in our lives? Everyone in the United States? Everyone at JUB? I feel like there are a number of ways you could approach that.

It was a hard question to word........I was going for the general. "Everyone else " can mean WHATEVER you want it to mean.

I just wanted to know what going on when people are internally whining.

I whined heavily about somethings that I considered problems, until I did so to a person who had bigger problems than me. It was a person here at JUB, and we've not really talked since.

I feel like, what can I say or do now? I've shown my ass and there's no where really left to go from that. That guy will always have a place in my heart though, cause when I see his posts, and I see the way he handles his problems, and how big a heart he has I'm truly humbled.

Interesting, I think it all has to do with various situations. Whether it's work or family or relationships or bills, or personal, etc, I think it would be safe to say that we all experience some of the same problems it's just how we deal with them. Like you were saying, you don't whine, but you whine in private. I find that venting tends to help me relieve a little stress ( again, depending on the situation) or sometimes (and this part might make you laugh) the song" Don't worry, Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin starts to play in my head:rolleyes::-) Sometimes it works, not always. LOL.;)

I do have my own share of personal problems...but nothing like between life and death. I try to look at my problems from a different perspective with a different attitude and for the most part they are actully trivial.

You should! You are an extremely pretty man!

Looks aren't everything.

I could have a debilitating disease.

I could be homeless.

I could be unemployed.

I could be a leftist. :D

All kinds of things could be a problem for me....

The classic cup.

What is your answer?

To me it's half empty. ;)

Realistically I feel like I have fewer problems than most, but I'm not a generally happy person. I don't bitch to people because I would just become someone I hate and I don't want that. My whole family seems to have some chemical imbalance or something and I only have one uncle who seems generally happy and his life is shittier than anyone else's. It's hard to beat the shit that goes through your head. You can be the smartest, richest, best looking thing in the world, but if the brain isn't with you, then you're still fucked.

I have a roof over my head and food in my stomach. I am very thankful.

Is it really about the problems or how one reacts to them? I don't know where we ever got the notion that life is suppose to be better probeml free. There never would have been an invention without a problem.

Just last summer I was joyously planning my daughter's wedding when a prostate cancer diagnosis came out of nowhere. A few months later before sexual function returned I woke up with a couple of tingly fingers which got worse in a few days. I'm writing this wearing a neck collar because I had surgery a month ago to stabilize my neck with two rods and 10 screws. Do I have problems? Sure, but I have a partner, two kids, friends, family, food in the fridge, a houseful of art and travel momentos, a mother who's still alive at 90, and a very modest pension.

I think it's essential to treasure life and when we can't we seek help to gets on that path. God knows I've needed help and still get help to develop into who I am supposed to be.

The older I get the more I wish to die in peace and the more I realize no one ever died of good health.

It goes fast. Let's make the most of it.

yea i feel like jj. i used to think that my disfiguring acne is worse than cancer, i still think it is, as i would trade it for cancer any day of the week, and i wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. that was then.
now - im so depressed id almost rather be blind or lose completely function of my legs instead of having this horrible curse. id happily give every possession i own to charity and devote my life to helping others to be well. i hate when people ask me "whats wrong" because what i feel almost incomprehensible. i never imagined my life would be over at 27. i really have nothing to live for as all joy has been sucked out. to put it another way, if you had one incurable illness that touched every facet of your own humanity, isn't something so basic from having a job or even a relationship suddenly a "problem"?
i think the world would be better off if i did end up crashing last night when i was doing 35 over the speed limit or if i got aids and died from that instead of my own recklessness. one of the reasons i decided to become an organ donor my last birthday when i got my id renewed, and start donating to charity even more. so yea i agree you cant be sure if you have more problems than anyone else, and i know there are many more out there who deserve much more than they have. sorry for the rant.
C'est la vie.

There are different levels of problems. There are people who deal with being paraylzed, in chronic pain, various debilitating diseases, murder of a loved one, blindness, etc. Thats a whole other level of 'problems'

But for the average person, I think I have had more than my share of problems : depression since 1979; anxiety attacks since 1989; numerous suicide attempts, never being financially well off; longest relationship Ive had was 3 months, 14 years of unemployment (because of the anxiety); social isolation; etc.

I just think when is something going to go my way.

But at the same time, I am very appreciative of the good health that I have had. The most serious thing I went to the hospital for was when I had a splinter in my throat. And I get the flu about once a year. I know that I have been very lucky regarding my health.
