I'm pretty sure I have fewer problems. But even when I had plenty o' worries, I'd like to think I handled them better than most. Which may be 1. why I like helping others with their problems, and even 2. a bit why I have fewer problems now.

Can't say I have more than anyone else, even though I've been laid off for 19 months, have had to replace the A/C units in my house, had a car crap out and had to buy a new one, had found the master bath shower base cracked and mold in the walls (replacing that stuff now).
This kind of shit comes and goes...it's all in the attitude and how you handle the problems. I don't dwell on the negative and try to keep a positive outlook on things. Mainly 'cause I know it could be a lot worse - - I could've been born in a war-torn middle-east country; I could be paralyzed from an accident; I could've lost limbs in Iraq or someplace like that; I could be living in the midst of one of the Mexican drug cartels...
Life is too short to worry about things you have no control over.

The classic cup.

What is your answer?

To me it's half empty. ;)

Really. I thought "we still got the half of it"

not more than EVERYONE, but I know I have more issues than most of my friends... many of those problems revolving around money...

I probably have about the same as most,

but it's hard to tell.

until the day the wheels came off,

I'm sure Bernie Madoff's life looked like paradise to most observers.

No, fewer.

I'm healthy, employed, solvent. I have my own home in a safe and beautiful part of the world. I realise that in many respects I've been very lucky.

Life can suck and I have plenty of problems but comparing my life to that of others does no good and doesn't help fix any of those problems. So I don't really care.

Didn't realize I was supposed to compare and contrast.

I like your perspective!

Something about the Serenity Prayer that keeps me going, particularly when I am down and out:

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Neil Young in On The Beach: I know my problems are meaningless / But that don't make them go away

I am blessed ... i know that i actually have no problems ... i just look around me and i see others with insurmountable problems ... mine are minuscule ...

Do I think I have MORE problems than others? No. But do I feel like I deal with crap that I shouldn't have to more often that I feel I should? Yes. That mostly comes from the fact that, unlike Razor, I tend to internalize my feelings because I don't like to bother others with my problems. I generally put on a happy face for everyone and tell people that everything is okay when actually I have a lot going on in my head that I'd just rather not share. Because of this it feels like I have more problems that I probably do, because I rarely completely deal with all of them. It's a flaw I've come to accept about myself and that I'm trying to fix but it takes time.

I am extremely grateful for the things that I have in my life. I was brought up very well and financially comfortably, and pretty much always had everything I ever needed and most of what I wanted so I appreciate the hell out of my parents. But sometimes it's hard to see the good things in life because those good things tend to be aspects that we take for granted.
