  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you think your Blackamerican peers look good/attractive/fit at your age....

*like I always say, healthy debate usually turns into a 'I'm right, you're wrong' scenario*

Back on topic; yes, I do often find find African-black-negroid people of my own age attractive.

Look, I don't care if you're shitzu. You're still a tired and transparent phony, trying to act superior over the Internet, while failing miserably at it.

It's all good though, you keep on trying to score them points now. Stay stocked up on those plaid V-necks, and remember to smile big and bright at the water cooler. Keep at it and maybe one day you'll get that validation you're so desperately seeking by finally being let into the country club with the two other Elcnu Mot's. ..|

Know wut Um sayin' dawg?! Shheeeettt!

Lawd, Jeezuz!

Hallelujah...amen!

You people :D are impossible. I am not saying these things out of the blue. I am not screaming. I am black. I am African. I am not racist. I am only responding to your post. So for you to say "people must call you a sell out" and then say i don't care when i answer your question is bewildering. And now you're calling me a sell out. Wow. At this point, i would normally tell you that i am not interested in infiltrating conservative country club society, but i am afraid you will say you don't care.

Nitish. Let's look at this from two sides.

Jy has answered your points, criticised other parts of your post, countered statements you've made, and made you look like a fool using your own post.

You however have chosen to insult him and automatically assume he's in the wrong rather than you. So not only has he made you look a teensy bit foolish, you've done it to yourself too.

Well done.

Your personal opinion means the world to me. Don't stop being you. :=D:

No one calls me a sell out because i am African. Not AFRICAN AMERICAN. Also, there is a difference between "scared" and "profoundly annoyed." I am profoundly annoyed by it, not scared. I would only be scared if it starts to spread to everyone, and the whole country starts sagging their pants, speaking ebonics, not snitch on criminals, call successful people a sell out, hate gays, say god and Jesus every 3 seconds, while hosing a video girl with crystal. Only then i would be scared.

One of my best friends is from Senegal, although her mother is from Cape Verde and her father from Portugal (He emigrated to Cape Verde, where he met her mother). Anyway, her parents emigrated to Senegal, where she was born, and so she considers herself Senegalese and was raised speaking French, although her parents spoke Portuguese (and her mother also a Cape Verdan dialect). My friend Eury went to school in Paris and learned English there, which she speaks perfectly. Then she moved to Boston, which is where she went to college, majoring in accounting. I mention her background because she speaks perfect English, with just a slight French accent, but also perfect French, Spanish, and Portuguese. She considers herself "black" but not African-American - just African or Senegalese. She too is appalled when she hears ghetto talk and thinks it sounds uneducated. So I can understand your dislike of ghetto style, although personally I like the fashion - just not the swearing and the offensive rap music. I do like Hip Hop when the lyrics are not offensive.

I especially like Cabo Verdan music, and Cesaria Evora in particular. Here are some pictures from an African Expo in L.A. I collect African art, and this is the best place I've found to buy it. There is a big difference, I think, between African culture and African-American culture.

There's a cute guy in this picture.

>>Would 'conservative country club society' be your term for white people?<<

Just thought I might say that so you can see how your lack of tact can give people the wrong ideas.

That guy up front in the short dreads and colorful shorts is pretty hot. The guy in the white shirt with the drum, is, too.

Are you serious? How am i supposed to reply to this? Conservative country club society pretty much means.....conservative country club society. :slap:

Go back and read the post i was replying to. OR do you think calling conservatives who go to country clubs "conservative country club society" is offensive?

Edit: and if you meant people can infer "conservative country club society" to mean white people. Then those people are idiots.

Now you see how people can react to things taken out of context. From your style and tone of your writing, you seem to enjoy making seemingly innocent, offhand comments that people will almost always interpret as something totally different than what you meant, thus resulting in arguments. I find that horribly fascinating.

Then, I notice that with every 'innocently stated post' posted in regards to yourself, you respond with more comments that would further inflame others. You, my dear sir, have a talent known as the taunt, and you use it excessively, and possibly unconsciously.

Fascinating.

Damn that gay pack mentality.

I am pleased that you're observant. I just don't like faulty assumptions and logic.

Now, let's see...context....

Because you are not fully explaining yourself, people take your words out of the context of your meaning. By saying 'fault assumptions and logic' you could mean many things:

1. You dislike the logic I used in my post to describe your writing.

2. You dislike that I supposedly assumed you were doing what I thought you were doing.

3. You dislike logic and/or assumptions in general.

4. etc, etc, etc

What was your original meaning by using 'faulty assumptions and logic'? Unless you explain your intention and meaning, people will continue to take what you say out of the context you intended, and interpret your statement as something entirely different. (say that ten times fast)

You see where I am getting at, here?

I totally see what you're getting at. And you're the first person that has noticed this about me. And it's true 100%. But that's just it isn't? I expect people to ask for clarification, or say something like "I am assuming you mean." instead of going crazy. That's what i try to do. Call it a personality flaw. I have great distaste for people who take things at face value. We're on the internet people! we know nothing about each other. So it's only rational to limit your assumptions to what you know. Just because i say i hate X doesn't mean i like Y. And just because i hate what X wears doesn't mean i hate x. If you can't be bothered to be logical, i can't be bothered to be nice.

You're doing it again. You're making innocent comments sound hateful and they might be taken out of context.

You tend to ramble on, too. Keep it short and simple.:p

-Thread starter asks a horribly worded question that i really didn't care to read.
-Some answer the question and other point out how ridiculous the question is
-i say i hate how black guys dress, but i don't stop there. I declare that i hate All African American culture.
-people freak out and call me racist
-I try to point out that i am not racist
-retarded internet argument ensues
-you point out that i come off a bit aggressive and my writing style is a bit unclear
-I point out that i probably will not change it.

so....which discussion do you want to resume? #-o

Yes. Some of my blackamerican peers are attractive.

No. Some of my blackamerican peers are not attractive.

*yawn* There are many reasons why, and many reasons why not.

Well said Jy_Star. Ditto.

Why are Black and Asian men soo damn insecure about them selves. Its almost pathetic now. At some point you would expect them to have some level of confidence, but no.Why is it so hard for people to understand that people have levels of standards and actually have a preference ?!?
This thread isnt about that. No one has brought up any situation where self-esteem was called into question. Did you not read the original post? Did half of you even read it? Because all he did was ask a question. He didn't go on a long rant about how racist American gay white males are, like all the others.

I hate how black guys dress....black people in general. (in the U.S.). I blame it on hip hop culture.

Edit: Honestly, i hate everything about African American culture.

Who said i hate black people? I am black. I said i hate African American culture. Next time, learn to comprehend English. K? I mean the last time i checked, culture =/= race.

And before anyone gets their panties in a twist. I am talking about the perceived dominant African American culture. I do realize that there is another culture that the public ignores, but it's not the one that people think of when you say African American culture. Furthermore, i don't mean culture as in art, books, etc. by prominent african Americans. I am talking about This god damn ghetto culture that seems to have hijacked public perception.

In your first post when you said hated everything about African-American culture that clearly includes art and literature. Its actually a diverse and rich culture which started in Africa and was influenced profoundly by the experiences of slavery and oppression in the 'New world'.

If you don't like hip-hop fine. We also created blues, jazz, soul, rock n' roll, funk, disco, R&B, rap & more.

A common smear tactic of the right-wing is to blame African-Americans for the economic and social legacies of slavery. This attitude existed long before the advent of hip-hop. It is easier to blame blacks for 'their' poverty than to do what's neccesary in order to level the field between the classes.

In your second post you backtrack and seem to awknowledge that there is a difference between authentic African-American culture the commercialized perception of US blacks which is both produced and rabidly consumed by white people.

No one calls me a sell out because i am African. Not AFRICAN AMERICAN. Also, there is a difference between "scared" and "profoundly annoyed." I am profoundly annoyed by it, not scared. It is obvious by now that you are being intentionally inflammatory. It may be a shock for you to hear this but not every black woman is a 'video girl' and not every African-American hates gays. Blacks (including Africans) have always been portrayed in the US media in the worst possible way. It is nothing new. The only way to rid your mind of these negative perceptions in to get out of the house and actually get to know (! some African-Americans for yourself.

You people are impossible. I am not saying these things out of the blue. I am not screaming. I am black. I am African. I am not racist.

Yes you are. You are ascribing negative sterotypes to a large and diverse ethnic group and culture of 40 million people. That you share the same 'race' as African-Americans does not give you the right to trash us. If you really are black African, perhaps you resent being mistaken for African-American (meaning the descendents of African people abducted or sold into slavery) so you let off steam by cheap shots at the US's poorest and most despised class for fun while under the convenient cloak of anonymity. I'm glad the overwhelming majority of Africans are not like you.

I agree with that, I can't understand why the Black US comunity allow such thing (rappers that promote drugs, violence and homophoby), BUT you need to word your messages better next time.

As if Blacks are some sort of collective monolith, capable of policing everything some individual black rapper decides to produce. If blacks are responsible for preventing 'their own' from making songs with misogynistic, violent, ect themes than who will stop whites from buying this media and who will stop white media companies from seeking out blacks to act out these negative depictions? For that matter why do whites allow white bands to produce songs with violent and homophobic themes if they are apparently capable of preventing it?

In your first post when you said hated everything about African-American culture that clearly includes art and literature. Its actually a diverse and rich culture which started in Africa and was influenced profoundly by the experiences of slavery and oppression in the 'New world'.

I obviously said I was wrong to say "every." I also clarified that This current subculture is the dominant one. Right now, without looking back in history, ask the average person "what is the current culture of African Americans."
If you don't like hip-hop fine. We also created blues, jazz, soul, rock n' roll, funk, disco, R&B, rap & more.

It's not about music. I like all the music genres you've listed. Especially jazz, soul, disco, and R&B. I call it the hip hop culture. What do you want me to call it? African American culture? that seems to piss off few people. I am also noticing that you don't have a name for it....just let me know the suitable name for this disease and i will use it to better our communication.

This is not really related to what I was discussing but if you want to bring it up, sure. I for one think it's the whole countries problem to diffuse race relations. But even if African Americans are blameless for their current situation, which i think they are for the most part, they still have the responsibility of get back on their feet and doing what's best for them. You clearly can't blame the current situation on anyone else. Black people in America were doing a lot better in the 70s than now. Which doesn't make sense to me.
In your second post you backtrack and seem to awknowledge that there is a difference between authentic African-American culture the commercialized perception of US blacks which is both produced and rabidly consumed by white people.
Apologizing is not the same as back tracking. I said i shouldn't have done that. Also, you're playing a dangerous game here. You're now trying to blame white people and the whole society on "rims, bitches, and hoes culture." Which is quite frankly out there. Those rappers have the support of the majority of african Americans. They were very popular before they made it to the mainstream.

It is obvious by now that you are being intentionally inflammatory. It may be a shock for you to hear this but not every black woman is a 'video girl' and not every African-American hates gays. Race is Black, White, Asian etc. To be a racist, you'd have to prefer one race over the other. Culture =/= race. african Americans =/= race. They just all happen to be of one race. And i clearly didn't attack them based on race, but on culture. I have no problem with you thinking i am racist. I am really responding to this out of the need to be rational and logical. I am however culturlist. I hate certain cultures. Certain ways of life. You might find it shocking but i have no hate for individual people. i do despise individual behavior though. As for being anonymous, I suppose you would want me to declare my full name, social security #, and home address before discussing a topic on a message board? Better yet, why don't I just walk to a random person and tell them that i dislike their culture.

As if Blacks are some sort of collective monolith, capable of policing everything some individual black rapper decides to produce. You're really out of touch with reality if you think african Americans are not more homophobic than the typical person in America. I suppose you will tell me Southerners are not more homophobic than the typical person in America. Good luck with convincing anyone of that.
