I was taking out my garbage today and realized you could see some of my bank papers through the white garbage bag. I know some of my friends use a Shredder to shred important financial documents and bank statements. I know about identity theft...so I should probably shell out $25 bucks for a shredder. Do you use one, should I?

I don't but I probably should. I guess in this day and age we should all use one.

I use my shredder often.

Old bank statements, old bills, junk mail credit card applications that have my name printed on them, and more...

I was given one. It's always overheating after two pieces of light cardboard/envelopes and smells burnt.

But fear not, there are also manual ones with a crank (o) or use those old-fashioned scissors.

I have a traditional and a cross-cut shreadder. Yes, in this day of common identity theft, I use them!

I don't, but every time I need to throw paper garbage, I tear them into pieces.

Yes I do!

Even so I had some fraud a year ago and it cost me about eight thousand American dollars.

I have since added a second shredder, one that makes a cross cut and smaller bits.

$25 is not much to pay for $8,000 peace of mind, and some insurance.

Get one and use it. It is almost a "must" appliance in this day and age.

Yes, I have used a shredder for years until a few weeks ago when my last one broke. I plan on buying another one.

Yes. I have one at home that cuts into thin strips and one in my classroom that does confetti. The confetti one can shred up to 20 sheets at a time and can also shred CDs and credit cards -paid $250 for it from an office supply catalog. The one at home I paid $30 for from Wal-Mart when they first came out -early 2000s.
Like everyone else, I use them for anything with my name on it. I also use the larger one for anything that would identify my students...

Been using for years now. The gearbox of one broke(cheap-ass plastic) so it'll become a crank job.
My other half tried burning old papers in the back yard but he stuffed the can too much so it didnt work out too well.

Yes, and I shred everything with my name and address on it.

What unloadonme said.

Very important to do that these days. With the right information it's all too easy for someone to take over your identity and spend spend spend all your money!
