  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you usually buy used/second-hand stuffs?

OMG my FAVE place to shop is Plato's Closet!

I get TONS of A & F, Polo, True Religion & Lucky Jeans and shirts there. for a fraction of what they cost new! I look hard & come out with things worn only once or twice.

...It was amazing some of the things that came in as donations - lots of stuff was still in its original packaging shops...

The company for which I work regularly donates remaining stocks of obsolete consumer goods rather than selling them to retailers at give-away prices. From a personal standpoint... it's been years since I bought a new car. The last six vehicles I've owned were purchased used.

Unless it's antiques or artwork I buy new. I have weird issue with material items. I don't like the idea of someone using or misusing whatever it is I'm going to purchase. I know there's second hand guaruntees on some items but for some reason I still don't trust it.

I've bought all kinds of stuff from thrift shops, and consignment shops. Sometimes second hand stuff is totally the way to go. I bought a leather briefcase at a thrift store for 3 bucks. i love it - interior looked great - the outside just needed TLC with leather cleaner. i've gotten all kinds of compliments on it. 'Sides, somehow leather looks better to me when it's got a worn-in look.
