Hahaha - Matt Smith is my Doctor - I started watching the series because of him - after that, I went back and watched Christopher Eccleton and David Tennant.

I agree re River Song, Ram. She's fantastic! Love the episodes with her in them.

And there will in fact be TWO seasons/series in 2011 with a huge game changing cliffhanger at the end of the first!

Theories about River Song? First I thought she was the Doctor's daughter. But they lip-locked. So either the Time-lord doesn't really understand the limits of family fun or I am really messed up by that scene.

I always thought she was his wife or lover ... but then I think that's far too simplistic.

I don't kno - whatever it is - I am sure it will be mindblowing. No, my expectations for this upcoming series aren't high at all!! (!)(!)
 
Count me in as being excited...

The boyfriend is too, since I introduced him to the Eccleston Doctor, Doctor Who has become one of 'our shows'.
 
I caught up on Doctor Who last year and can't wait for the new series, from the trailers it looks like another good season.

River Song's death is already fixed. She died in the episode in the great library during David Tennant's reign.

That leaves Rory, Amy or the Doc. Hmmm.

Considering they only just upgraded Rory to a series regular for this series, I doubt they're going to kill him off in the first episode and he's already died before.

Amy wouldn't make any sense and even if they did I doubt Rory would stick around, leaving The Doctor without a companion (not counting River). River's death is fixed in the library, I don't think Moffat would retcon something like that (especially considering he wrote that episode).

That only leaves The Doctor but he wouldn't die, only regenerate...or partially at least.
