Hello all. I'm a long time viewer but first time replier. I also like this incarnation of the Master. I'm not bothered by the comic nature of the new regeneration. It's similar to the differences between William Hartnell's Doctor and Tom Baker's Doctor in my view. Sorry for the references to the old series. I loved the episode.

this episode had me hanging at the edge of my seat!
i'm wondering about those animated episodes, though. anyone planning on keeping up on them? i find it ironic that a show that was originally intended for children has to modify itself to appeal to children.
(or maybe that isn't irony, x'cuze me while i go get myself a dictionary).
He will undoubtedly live! I can't imagine they'd have so much build up towards bringing him back - employing Derek Jacobi and John Simm - only to kill him off after three episodes!
I expect he'll popping up in series to come when the Doctor least expects it!
Wow. What a thrill ride of an episode. I can't believe how much info was packed into 45 mins.
I just can't believe the things we learned. Loved that cliffhanger leading into the christmas special called "Voyage of the Damned!"
So here's some shocking conclusions....

The master refused to regenerate and let himself die just to finally "win" against the doctor. Course he's not dead....check out that ring. Look at the symbol. It's a time lord's mark. The bastard transfered his mind into the ring!!!! So he'll be back!
The doctor lost Martha! Wow....she left him because she loved him and he didn't even think twice about her.
And finally, I love how the season ended the same way season 2 ended. With the doctor going "what? What??" WHAT!!??" when the titanic smashes through the walls of the Tardis! Mr. Tennant's looks are priceless!!
Now we just have to wait for the Christmas special...my saturday nights are just not going to be the same anymore!

Well the Scissor Sisters made the start way too camp. I can't stand the Scissor Sisters and the Master "singing" and dancing was just silly. The little Doctor in the cage was kind of silly too but the rest was pretty good.
BIG NEWS FOR THE NEXT SERIES: The Doctor will be joined by a second companion. Martha will miss a couple of episodes at the start of the series but will return.
Freema Agyeman is also set to join the cast of Torchwood, where she will continue to play the character in three new episodes before returning to Doctor Who in the middle of the fourth series.
After that she is back in Doctor Who how good it that.
The season end was great I wonder who picked up the Masters ring?
Aaaargh! I can't believe I have to wait until Christmas.
Ah well, at least Belgian TV is broadcasting the second season at the moment, so I won't be *completely* without. But when that ends (nine episodes to go)... *shudders at the thought*

He more then likely transferred his intelligence into the ring right before he died. Though a time lord refusing to regenerate...that's a new one to me. Didn't think they had a choice in the matter!?
i loved that song at the beginning that the master sang along with. i had never heard it before, but thought it was cool.
i agree i think that lady's hand that picked up the ring was his wife, who shot him. i think the symbols on the ring looked like those that were on the fab watch. so i'm guessing his mind is in that thing also. but if his body is dead he'll have that whole not beging able to regenerate again thing, but then maybe that's what the lazserous stuff was for. a just in case thing for him if he had to take over the mind of a human.
the episode over all i thought was ok. not great, and really not as good as the season 1 or 2 end, but still i think probably better than average. i loved that martha left him and that she told him why. he needed to hear that.
I don't think it was a womans hand that picked up the ring will have to review and see.
One thing they never talked about is that the Master had run out of regenerations so how can he now have done it twice?
Does this mean the Doctor can keep on doing it as well? a way of keeping the show going if actors only want to do one or two years the Doctor will soon run out as well.
