Doctor Who Season 4

Wow. What. A. Finale! And how about that preview for Christmas?

Little upset about how things worked out. Poor Doctor is cursed to remain loveless (though, seems he meets his love, only to have her die due to the Vashta Nerada). Poor Donna. I really liked her, especially her Doctor-Donna self. It would have been interesting to see a companion that fully understood, if not more so than the Doctor, about the universe. And how about the possibility of Martha and Mickey joining Torchwood? I saw Martha, but never would have thought Mickey. Oh, and I loved Jack's line about the thoughts going through his head regarding the three Doctors, lol.

This part doesn't seem to require spoiler tags --

Yeah, but she will be back as a younger version of herself, chronologically before he met her (so it will now be her who doesn't know him even though he will obviously already know her), since Moffat is taking over. Everyone dies one way or another, especially compared to the Doctor who lives a helluva long time, so...

if Benny Summerfield/River Song is indeed "his love", then he will meet her again, in a parallel to The Time Traveler's Wife.

I completely agree. I am terribly sad for Donna. I can't imagine those experiences being taken from you. All of the Doctor's other companions still knew what was out there and could still interact with it in some way. She was thrown back into normalcy and doesn't even realize it. I don't know how her parents can even contain what little they know. All and all, loved the episode, cannot wait for the mini's.

That was so sad...I knew she was who Dalak Khan was refering to as the most faithful companion. That ending was much sadder then the episode "Parting of the Ways' I mean Rose sort of got what she wanted...Donna lost everything...brought tears to my eyes.

Though, honestly, I think they need to come up with some new villains...I mean Cybermen...Dalaks or however you spell it...they are always being used. Its like they get rid of em completely then they come back. But I guess its part of the Doctor Who universe and people want to see it...or they cant think of anything better.

But yea...it ended great, sucks that there wont be a new season next year..but 3 tv movies.

I guess I'm in the minority being disappointed by the episode. I guess I feel that RTD used the regeneration as a stunt to up the viewers for better ratings on the finale. Don't get me wrong it had great points (Davros, Dalek Caan, Donna, etc.), but there were lots of weak points (why was Jackie there, why did the Doctor-Donna hybrid loose the Donna mannerism at the end, why could the hybrid operate the TARDIS after it had been neutralized and why wasn't it detected). I'm happy to see DT stay, but I feel really underwhelmed at the circumstances.

I just saw the last 3 episodes. Really they were all amazing. The final tied up really quickly, but it was fascinating to see davros name him "destroyer of worlds" although i'm not entirely sure why since none of the planets were destroyed. i guess he just meant the daleks.

i cried for donna having lost all her memories. i loved having sarah jane in the story. i don't think they needed to drop in k-9 at the last second, but i guess that's ok. liz sladen keeps having the dog brought in on her doctor who episodes! lol

i wonder what's in store for the story series/season next year. (!)(!) can't wait to see. ..|

Nah, the cheer that rose up from my friends at the appearance of K-9 really was something! I thought all-in-all it was a good finale, I loved having everyone back together again, but my one disappointing point was the way things were left with Rose and the hybrid. I didn't like that. at all.
But who am I to criticise?

but it was fascinating to see davros name him "destroyer of worlds" although i'm not entirely sure why since none of the planets were destroyed.

Because that is what he is. Remember the time war. Remember season one of Who (2005 series) where all the villians talk about how higher intelligent life forms died well lower ones didn't know what was happening. The war was fought across time and space and I'm sure the time lords destroyed planets to stop the daleks just as the daleks did it to stop the time lords. Plus he did make that delta wave that destroyed both planets and both sides. Look at all the people who die when they come in contact with the Doctor. He is the destroyer of worlds!

I feel so sad for Donna - I think her ending here was sadder than Rose's ending in Doomsday (following along on the whole 'It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all'). To see how much she has changed this season and since the Runaway Bride, the compassion that she showed (for the Ood and for others) and now she's back to her old bratty self. And the way she was so disinterested in the Doctor =(

I'm not sure what to think about Rose's ending. I think she still feels a little bit heartbroken by it - because the doctor that was left behind still is not HER doctor. He can grow to love her, I suppose, but if he really is the same as the other doctor (but with a human body) I can't really imagine him ever settling down. Is it supposed to be a happy ending?

Overall a sad ending for the Doctor, as always =(

The other doctor is half human. He actually told rose that he loved her. He only has one life. He doesn't have a tardis. So I think the human side of him would want him to settle down with rose.

Agh agh agh agh agh.

DONNA. WHYYYY. I agree with her grandfather...all those wonderful things she's done and she just doesn't remember. I'm gonna miss that bitch. I have been calling timelorddonna ever since the Ood.

/\ i agree. i will miss donna a lot. i wish she could have kept her memories. that was a terrible way to leave someone. good for the story, sad ending and all, but it was terrible all the same.

i loved having sarah back in DW. ;)

I never saw her on the original, but her appearances on Doctor Who always amuse me.

As does K-9 :-)

just for fun here are some old pictures of her. funny i just noticed she looks older in her first season on the show than her later ones. lol
