I knew that Torchwood is a spin-off of Doctor Who, but I didn't know it was also an anagram.

Fancy that, eh?

I miss torchwood......doubt it will be back anytime soon with capt. Jack on arrow now

The Torchwood/Doctor Who relationship and anagram was explained in one of the Tennant episodes - 'Tooth and Claw'.

I don't think Torchwood is ever coming back - not after the travesty that was 'Miracle Day'.

It's a shame - the series was great especially the 'Children of Earth' episodes which comprised Season 3. Amazing story-telling.

Our 'Space' channel in Canada is showing a marathon of Dr. Who. It's the first time I've seen any of the new shows. I'm watching David Tennant right now (with Donna and Martha). I've never seen an episode of Torchwood.

Thanks for the info.

Donna Noble was a great companion.

I won't say too much about her run but her leaving the series was perfectly tuned and executed.

She's probably my favourite.

^ Unfortunately, it's a continuous, non-repeating marathon which has been running since Saturday morning. I haven't been watching it except during the day. I just finished watching 'The End of Time' this morning when I woke up. I loved how the Doctor travelled around to say goodbye to everyone and give them a final 'gift'. I especially loved the bit with Captain Jack and Alfonzo. Nice touch, and they make such a cute couple.

I Googled Russell Tovey and found this interview. Here's a portion:

How do you feel about becoming a TV sex symbol?

Have I? Really? I'm astonished and honoured. I still see myself as this sort of spotty, pasty, big-eared, little cheeky sod that got chucked out of his classes at school for being naughty. I don't see myself as anything that someone would want to put on their bedroom wall.

There aren't many young male actors who are openly gay - do you see yourself as a role model?

If it has been beneficial to people, then I am really chuffed. There wasn't anyone when I was growing up that made me go, "Oh, they're gay and that's fine." If people think I'm a sex symbol, that's great for my ego, but it seems like fluff if you can help someone come out or be more confident with the fact that they're gay.

Do you think your sexuality has affected your career as an actor?

I don't think so, no, because I've never made a big deal out of it. I think some people find that refreshing. I'm not aware of anyone saying, "I can't cast him because he's gay." I think I can play the anti-romantic lead but I couldn't ever be the Brad Pitts or Orlando Blooms.

And something for the imagination:

How long does it take to be transformed into a werewolf?

Hours. I'll get in about 4:30 in the morning and sit in make-up for three hours, then go on set, come back, and put more make-up on before going back out. Then I'll take everything off, take off all my clothes, and run around naked while they're still filming. That last bit has nothing to do with filming - it's just what I do as an end-of-transformation celebration!

Russell Tovey is great. Very good to watch.

You should be able to get the Doctor Who DVDs from amazon for not too much - they're worthwhile - at least they are during the Tennant years, and the first Matt Smith years.

There's an episode during the Tennant run (with Martha Jones) called "Blink" - one of the best episodes of Doctor Who. Very much recommended. Starred a young Carey Mulligan who is now a big movie star.
