Who's Moffat Looks Ahead

Steven Moffat, who is set to take over the job of executive producer of the BBC's Doctor Who from current show runner Russell T. Davies, told SCI FI Wire that he is currently planning the fifth season of the new incarnation, due to air in 2010 following a series of five specials next year.

"It's all happening in this head," Moffat said in an interview at Comic-Con International in San Diego on July 23. "I know where I want it to start. I don't mean to make it sound very grand. It's very simple, just where I want it to be when it takes off. So [Russell's] arranged for that."
Who's Moffat Looks Ahead

i have to say i'm sort of worried to see davies leave the show but i am looking forward to what this new producer will bring.

I just saw thaton SciFi.com! I am worried too. I think Russell T. Davies does a great job. I hope David Tennant stays on for a little while longer.

What can I say? Russell and Moffat are two of my favorite British, writer producers, so I am kind of exited about the new things coming. Have anyone seen "Jekyll"? Absolutely brilliant!

They've got a 'brilliant' team.Moffat will do just fine ..|

i think the episodes moffat has written were amazing. blink was really good even for not having the doctor/martha in it much. but i'm worried about a whole season being "in his head." i don't know if moffat means he's got the stories in his head or if the stories occur in the doctor's mind. i think the latter would be kinda lame.

I love Moffat in the face. Blink and The Empty Child are two of my favorite Who episodes (Silence in the LIbrary would be up there too if it weren't for River Song).
He gave an interview recently where he said something along the lines of Who's writers writing how they remember the series. The guy that wrote The Unicorn and the Wasp remembers Doctor Who as being funny and clever, so we had asides about dancing girls and "I mean a WASP. That's GIANT." Moffat, on the other hand, remembers Doctor Who as being scary. So we get The Empty Child and Blink (I was creeped out by this one statue of a weeping angel my neighbor has for about a week). I look forward to seeing how that'll play in to the next season and beyond.

i *swoon* every time is see tennant as the doctor. !oops!

^^^^

That was fantastic! :)

David Tennant has let it be known that he will stay on until the end of the fifth season.

David is so cute!! :D anyways..i forgot to add the Proms WITH the audience reaction.

I wouldn't worry much. Moffat is the man who brought us Coupling, one of the best Britcoms - he'll do a great job ;)

David is so cool and so hot!! Doctor Who is my HERO!!

MajorApollo: The closest I think we're gonna get is Jack. Because the past four seasons are just the new incarnation of a show that has a grand total of twenty-four seasons. None of which featured a male companion. Granted, they've already broken new ground with Martha, the first black companion, but I don't think BBC1 will be willing to air a male companion. Especially without Russel T. Davies at the helm.

i love the show!! i cry when donna noble forget about the doctor. my favorite line in the last espiode is" for one moment, she was the most importand woman in the galaxy( i cannot spell unvi....) , they will sing the song of donna noble, i cry!!
