Does 7Up really help when you are sick?

Diet 7UP helps if I have an upset stomach. It gets you to belch if you're gassy after eating too much spicy foods.

Sorry for being gross.
 
I don't think it necessarily will "help". The advantage of 7UP (and ginger ale) is that it's a simple concoction that most stomachs can handle when they're upset. When you're having stomach issues, and you need to keep hydrated, 7UP can help in that regard.

You never mentioned what your sickness might be.:confused: When I was sick with appendicitis, the only thing that could help was a doctor and an operating room.

I've never liked 7-Up when sick... especially nauseous. The carbonation just makes me wanna Urp up even worse. Same with Orange Juice... too acidic. When I'm sick, I prefer grape juice first, apple juice second.
 
I think either 7-Up or ginger ale are okay. If you have gastroenteritis, you probably need fluid replacement anyway - dehydration. Take your beverage and leave it at room temperature, pour into a bowl and let the fizz stop. Include water, chicken broth, and Jello. If you are vomiting, something like Gatorade will replace lost electrolytes. Dry toast is okay, but stay away from dairy for a while. If you are running a fever over 101, go see your doctor.

That's not as strange as Bologna being a "Natural" paint remover for Cars...:eek:.....I heard it on the radio...I will NEVER look at a Bologna & Cheese Sandwich the same way again...
 
Coca Cola is said to relieve tummy ache, I never heard about 7up doing the same though.
 
When I was a kid my mum used to give it to me whenever I was sick.

Dunno if it ever made a difference though....
