  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Does anybody want to have a real conversation about something?

I think we should use this thread to discuss what's going on in other threads.....

.....just act as if this is some sort of Big Brother thread that can see everything that's going on and comment on it, but they can't see what we're saying.

Go.

the problem is...

they can see everything we are saying.

hehe

and they would not be happy.

where are you from LOL? You have a New England witt... sharp, bitter, and very enjoyable;)

Yeah, just ignore their tears and comment away as if they can't see it. Hell, join in with said threads if you see fit.

And erm....I'm from Scotland. Like....anti-England, nevermind New England :p

The best accent in all of the brittish isles, as far as personal turn ons go, anyway.

You guys can read the telephone book and make it sound like ou want to fuck the piss out of it...|

Well if I REALLY HONESTLY met you in person in a conventional setting, the conversation would be about your basic life experiences such as where you were from (Boston, I presume ) what your career was, what your hobbies and interests are, and I would relate the same information back to you, and then we would most likely go on a sightseeing tour around Boston/Brighton or wherever we were with one of us acting as 'guide' to the other depending on whether we were in U.K. or U.S. followed by a snack or meal somewhere. It actually sounds quite pleasant. :)

Alternatively, the two of us could meet at the halfway flight stop between our respective cities (Reykjavik, Iceland) and we could go and see morgaes. ..|
You and I are similar in so many ways. The only time I met you, a couple years ago, there were elements of that type of interaction, limited by time constraints for both of us.

I would rather have the type of interaction described here, than anything else than I ever do.

next time I hope our schedules will match up.;)

I just do my thang, tootz.

You do it well;)

fun stuff. I get you, your humor, or Humour, as you would spell it.;)

Yes, it's ALL in the spelling.

(stop butchering our language you bunch of fucks)

Anyway, I'm off to bed now. Up to walk me pooch in 6 hours before getting ready for work :(

Laters.

Humans can apparate beyond those kind of walls.

anyway. any particular style of cooking? Myself I enjoy the classics done by Two Fat Ladies and so on. Not so much anything "fusion."

I've never made it through one of those shows.

I am much more of a Jamie Oliver kind of foodie... I go to the market to get what is the best price and what is the freshest, bring it home, and cook it the way it seems right to cook it.

Hoo boy. I'm really not good at intelligent conversation. I've stumbled into a few, and I enjoyed myself there. But the few times I've taken part in a "let's have an intelligent conversation" conversation, I've basically revealed precisely how ignorant I am on everything of import. And yes, I know - "that's how you learn, Lex". But I never learn anything other than the fact that I'm ignorant. For instance, when it comes to political or sociological matters, it's clear my opinions are vague and the support for them is flimsy. But when I hear what the other people are saying, it just makes me think "OK, that's another piece of information on this topic, but it'd be silly to change my point of view to match theirs just because somebody smarter than me thinks that. There's probably plenty of sound arguments for the other side, too." And so I end up feeling uninformed and unintelligent on the topic, but unwilling (and in some cases, unable) to delve heavily into the topic to try to get the information necessary to bolster my position (or find my new one). And other truly "smart" conversations just shut my brain down. I'm quickly left in the dust by concepts and topics that are beyond my grasp. Or perhaps I'm too lazy to grasp them - I HAVE tried, but usually end up just as befuddled as before.

And I'm usually unwilling to engage in true intellectual discussions, especially online. Because online, I tend to end up with a reputation of being pretty smart. I don't necessarily cultivate that, but neither do I dissuade people in thinking that it's true, so often that'll be the reputation I get. And I feel like the guy with a small cock who gets the reputation of having a twelve-incher. I like the attention it affords me, so my denials tend to be pretty soft. ("Actually, I'm not all that smart" and "it's not exactly twelve inches" aren't too far apart.) Getting into a truly intelligent conversation online ends up like that guy whipping it out...and having a lot of people get really disappointed really quickly. :)

Is it some sort of a concealed "Ask Me Everything" thread?

This maybe totally nerdy but..Does anyone else here believe We are made from stardust?
It sounds like a line from a poem, but there is some solid science behind this statement too: almost every element on Earth was formed at the heart of a star.:D

I think it's better to ask "Were you aware that we are made of stars?" And, the answer is yes! :)

Tell us about your first kiss with a girl (if it happened) and a boy (if it happened)

If there was no internet, is it harder to be gay now and deal with bullying or in the past (circa 1970)? [I think it is safe to say that it is probably harder today because bullies can bully someone online)

If you found out you were a product of rape, would you want to meet your dad (who is born again and repented for that sin?)

If I found out I was the child of rape, I would have to say that I have met and fought rage and anger all my life. DNA contributor does not a father make.;)

It was harder being gay when it was still illegal and you got beaten to death or jailed. Now we are horrified by multiple yet singular actions that were once not only considered acceptable, the laws of the nation encouraged gay bullying.

The first Kiss? I do not remember exactly. Probably a guy in High school, that I had a crush on, who turned out had mutual feelings. He was not a really great kisser.

The best kisser I've ever locked lips with is my husband. passion and restraint... reactive to almost the slightest breath... he almost reads my mind with a kiss.

Sounds strange yes?

sorry to have been away on a trip.

This is not really a ask me anything thread.. just a place to talk. Consider it a table at the coffee house we all hang out at. IF there's something on your mind, let it rip. ..|
