Does anyone else hope to see "rapishare" burn in the eternal fires of hell?

YES!!! IT SUCKS!! My computer CRASHED a Few Weeks ago and I'M SURE that TIRED BITCH had something to do with it. Way to many guys on JUB post stuff from there.

megaupload is slower than a snail :)
and well if you use AOL .. that's not rapid share's fault, just your own

Only ever use ********** and never had problems. Megaupload I mostly find too slow, but then I'm on AOHell via Germany (most of the time). Interestingly though, sometimes megaupload is very fast, so I guess it depends if I'm being routed via Germany or not!

I've been having problems with ********** lately. I don't know why. It used to work so well.
I use Yousendit.com anyway. :)

I like **********. I just hate how you have to wait 1/2 hour before between downloads.

God I hate all the red tape you have to go through with siggs...hijacking my own thread.
What? Explain please. If you're still having problems with siggies, I've already offered to help anyone who needs help with avatars and siggies.

I don't have any problems with ********** and can understand why they had to add all the precautions like IP limit and a timer. It was one of the first file upload services that became popular for uploading illegal files and full movies, so its user base grew rapidly and caused bandwidth problems.

I can imagine that once the users switch to other websites, these ones will also get bandwidth problems and add precautions.

I agree with Paws - but of course there are ways around the wait (especially if you browse with Opera:badgrin: ).

I've got no problem with RS itself, although the catalog(ue) has recently had a major upgrade and everything has gone to buggery (reminds me of another site upgrade?) - hopefully it will be working properly again soon.

Interestingly, all the mp3 music is still listed - but just try clicking anything and you get "Not available, complaints received".

I paid for a premium membership and for a long time it worked quickly and like a charm. Then it began to slow down to a crawl. It is not my Mac, because I don't have that trouble with any other fileshare. Yesterday, for example, I was downloading a file and it told me it had about 29 minutes total. I left my computer on overnight and when I opened the download window this morning it told me it had five hours and something to finish! A couple of weeks ago I wrote and complained, and I got a note back telling me no one else was having trouble, yada, yada, yada, and in essence told me I was full of shit. I won't be renewing because it will be just as fast to download it for free--which of course takes forever and allows only one file per time period. I urge everyone to use another uploader and let ********** die on the vine!

well your problem more likely sounds as if it is you ISPs fault.
did you try downloading over another peering? (cogent for example?) they don't offer you those choices of nothing ;)
