In the 90s if Boys II Men or any of their offspring boy groups, or a pop/r&b diva didn't deliver us a ballad consistently, we could AT LEAST count on a huge blockbuster movie to bring is that climactic love song that becomes bigger than the movie itself, between all the above we got at least one mega smash hit ballad a year on average.

seems like we've gone almost a decade without a "My heart will go on" or "I'll make love to you." are they out of style? is everyone too busy clubbing and raving to hiphop and EDM?

I want it all-- the cliche lyrics about dying for the one you love and fighting a whole army just for one of their tender kisses, I want the vocal histrionics with obnoxious 20-note arpeggio riffs and belting in the 120th octave.

I know most of you are heartless insatiable w*hores who only do quickies and anonymos sex and are allergic to eye-contact sex but IS THERE A HEART IN THE HOUSE TONIGHT???!!!! I cannot make sweet passionate tender love to my man to THIS:

Although.... BROKE BOYS DON'T DESERVE NO PUSSY I KNOW THAT'S RIGHT!!!!

She sounds like she has tourette syndrome.
I said my face bomb, ass tight
Racks stack up Shaq height
Jewelry on me, flashlight
I been lit since last night
Hit him with that good-good
Make a ***** act right

You are a sucker for instrumentals..... please.
Especially slow weepy ones like that. I am all about some romantic emotional masturbation. And the boogie. :gogirl:

Closer to the actual topic, I suppose, this is kinda-sorta a ballad, right? If you squint with one eye and don't look out the other:

I don't much understand what this topic is about but since you mention The Commodores Machine Gun, that is the loudest 45 I have ever heard and we have a lot of 45s in this house. That was the disc I used to play to demo speakers to customers coz it was just so LOUD.
This song below may or may not be of interest to you but nobody can tell me that there is a more powerful soul jazz voice than that of Jean Carne. The vast range, the total control. I love her anyway, the rest of you can please yourselves.

Clearly what you want is grand opera.
