Does anyone like David Cameron! personally i hate him and think hes arragant and not fit for being primeminister! You??
 
How can you not like David Cameron?

Look at his detailed policies, he wants:

* A better NHS
* Social justice
* Fairer taxation
* A better criminal justice system

How can you disagree with any of that?!

He's one of those people so utterly desperate to get elected that he would literally say anything to win votes.

There is something very smarmy about him, that doesn't really engender much trust. Basically, if you look at the Tory party faithfuls at their meetings, they're all decrepit oldies with victorian values. They're desperate to get into power again, and clap to his speeches to make him look good. Secretly on the wings, Europe and the Euro are being silenced, but once they're back in, it will be a replay of John Major's miserable time in office. Had it been Ken Clarke, I would've say yes, he is charismatic, and has leadership qualities. Perhaps he's the best prime minister we've never had.
 
I wish Tony Blair was staying but hopefully people ahve enought sence to vote for Gordan Brown over David Cameron!!!
 
He's a deceptive asshole. He does all these htings like riding a bike or keeping a web blog to make it look like he's with the times and cares about the evironment and shit like that but he hasn't really SAID he'd do much yet, only made it appear like he would. :/

Joke is he rides a bike, with a police motorcade escort with his papers etc being taken in another car, Journalists all driving to take the publicity shots, It's all just image we are not supposed to think about all the cars escorting him so they are not mentioned. If he drove a mini with a policeman next to him and his papers etc in the back, that would be much greener but not get the same publicity

John Reid - his a tough cookie. He is PM material! I am not sure whether the voters would take to him.

As for Cameron. mmmm The jury is out. I am interested in politics - but don't support any political party. I think Cameron is right to be a little cautious about announcing too many policies 'off the hoof'. Let's face it the Tories have to seriously rethink on some of their policies after successive General Election defeats! The British public are just not interested in the right wing agenda that the parties grass roots would like to see.

Cameron has got a tough job on his hands! I would like to see the Tories do better because I think that a strong opposition is good for British government.

Whether I would like to see them in power again? I am old enough (only just) to remember the last time the were in.

Well obviously that means that there polices are bad! i party that cant tell there policies is decpetive and not honest!

And Labour support the majority of the country the working class! And thats what we need!

All I have to say about "just call me Dave" Cameron is that its no coincidence he used to work in PR. He jumps on every bandwagon going and gives sleek, populist snippets of policies to the press without addressing any issues in any real detail. I would jump off Canary Wharf before I'd ever vote for a Tory but Cameron leaves a particular nasty taste at the back of my throat every time I see his shiny Eton-boy grin on TV. Hes trying to con the whole country with his PR gimmicks. His much publicised meeting with Stonewall last week, given his track record just proves the point. See the interesting article here.

I would agree that a complex political game is being played between the two main parties. I can also understand why it is in the interests of the Conservatives not to announce too many policy intiatives straight away. You are right; Labour would seek to undercut them. It would also be in their interests to take time and seriously consider the direction of their policies given three general election failures.

To others who think that New Labour stands up for the working classes - you need to look a little closer. I am not so sure they do anymore. Look at fiscal policy and stelf taxation, tuition fees for students etc. Whether they have an electoral mandate from the working class is also questionable. My understanding is that many did not vote at all.

That said some of Labour's other policies have helped the working classes; namely the introduction of a minimum wage albeit a pathetic one. I do remember the Tories suggesting that the introduction of one would damage the economy. Its things like that - some people do not forget.

I am also concerned about the Conservatives track record on social justice and welfare issues. Can they be trusted to represent the interests of those who are not part of a 2.4 family? David Cameron suggests that he can. Indeed his gay friendly stance suggests so. I hope that such, and his green agenda are not gimmicks.

For Cameron the tough thing will be to reconcile the various levels within the party.

Tories can not state too clearly exactly what they will do, because all labour will do then is beat them by undercutting them. In simplistic terms. Tories announce tax cuts of for arguments sake, 5%. All labour need to then do to win the votes is to announce proposed cutes of say 6%.

By not saying what EXACTLY they are until the very last minute, it ensures that labour cant properly write theirs because they dont know what they are up against.

Its politics.. its a game... always is always will be. Its simply about ensuring who gets into office. Labour seem to support the majority of the working class.. but they do not.

Yes but how could you have faith in supporting someone you dont even knwo there policies for, i mean yes labour could outbeat them if they say them, but by nto syaing the voter doesnt know! and its the voter who needs to knwo so they can fairly choose who they want as PM!
