Does heat make you miserable?

I used to love the heat. Not so much anymore. I think it's due to the ravages of aging.

We've had a mild summer in the Northeast U.S.. Only one heatwave and it only lasted a few days. It's still August, supposedly the hottest month, but I'm back to sleeping under a comforter and haven't used the AC, even on the fan setting, for close to a week. Climate change my ass.
 
I don't like it when it gets hot, although I guess I'm tolerant of heat than was the case when I was young.
 
It's been my observation that most people who say that they love hot weather are stay at home housewives/mothers, and schoolgirls. And, of course, shriveled up, tissue thin skinned, sedentary old farts who can never be warm enough.:)

I've never heard anyone who is physically active, especially with outdoor activities, say that they enjoy hot weather.

I swear we had what felt like a never ending Summer heatwave a few years ago? I remember it but not the year. It was extremely high humidity and temps 90-100s.

Nasty it was.
 
I can remember those summers when it seems like non-ending heat. Not any fun.
 
Of course, no matter how hot the summer is, it does eventually end.

Then, a few short months later, one might be whining about how cold it is! :lol:
 
The heat has never bothered me. The last time I used the A/C was over 10 years ago. I used it for the long haired cat, not for me.

I do that outside as well. I live in the woods, and the few neighbours who drive by would have to come to a complete stop to see through the front hedges, and they're welcome to.

I have to keep track of time, though, when I'm expecting deliveries. They're chatty enough when I'm dressed.:) I'd never get rid of them.
 
I love the heat i am miserable during the winter when its 9 degrees outside and you have to get up early to warm up the car.

Winter time drags for months and months on end.

The heat has lifted a little. Got down to 84F last night Cold.gif The cold water is cool this morning which means a pleasant shower today.

I have lived full time in the desert since 1977 and started visiting here in 1963. When younger we were water skiing everyday making life much more livable. This spring was cool, but the last three months have been unreasonably hot at 120F almost every day. Hope the heat has gone away.

We had some ice cold nights/mornings its miserable and the whole shoveling snow and worrying about ice i don't know how anyone enjoys winter
