I seriously suspect that my mother is a lesbian. I always used to see her watching documentaries and shows about lesbian women coming out of the closet after X number of years of marriage.

That doesn't prove or support that it runs in the family, it's just an observation of mine. :?
 
I personaly don't think so but I don't have the numbers. And they would probably be wrong anyhow because a lot of people won't admit their Gay side or have been so indoctrinated by the society they grew up in to supress it.
 
My oldest sister (I am one of 5, the only boy in the bunch) is a lesbian. We have different fathers (Momma gave Liz Taylor a run for her money when it came to marriages LOL) so it HAD to come from her side. I tease her & say, "Two out of five ain't bad!" ROFL
 
My aunt and my great uncle on dad's side...
 
I'm the only out gay person in my family, but we're all pretty convinced that my dad is gay, though he'll never come out. There is a lot of gender-bending in my family, though... uncles, cousins, brother. I think my younger cousin may be gay, also.
 
Happy-boy I'd love to hear more about him. Did he tell anything? Not just sex, but what kind of life was that? Was he a grifter?
 
I personally think so!

My Dad's side has all the homos (that i know of)....2 of my cousins on his side of the family, and myself.

Gay people do tend to run in families. There are some biological factors at play that are still largely not understood. On the social side of the equation, I'd say out gay people tend to run in families as well. In a more accepting family, members who are gay are much more likely to be out. In a less accepting one, fewer members will probably come out and those who do probably tell a smaller number of family members (for example just siblings or parents, not all the extended family).

I was just reading about this in my psych text (ahhhh, exam in 2 days!). It says that genetics does play a part, but it's not the only part of the equation. They gave the example that in identical twins (100% related), there is a 50% chance that both are gay. But with fraternal twins (50% related), there's less than a 25% chance that both are gay.
 
I have NO, I repeat NO evidence of your statement; but I too think being Gay is hereditary!

Our family, ALL the Gays are on my Mom's side of the family....

I know of at least 5 or 6 gays/lesbians for sure and several more that are MORE than suspects in the case of being gay!!! lol

I bet that "IF"............a BIG if being gay did NOT have the correlation that it does, a lot more "family" members would come forward and make this case even more closer to the truth than ever thought possible!(*8*) (*8*) :kiss: :kiss:
 
I have Uncles that are gay, its definitely on my Dad's side, and on my Mom's side I seemed to have her genes. I write like my Mom, have the same emotions as my Mom. God I turned out to be alright.
 
my brother and I are both gay (only two siblings in my family); my boyfriend is gay (obviously) and so is his brother and his sister (all three siblings gay) and his mother is gay (came out after they all grew up). so i think that it is genetic for most people.
 
theres really no way to tell if its genetic because it could be because of the way people in the family act as familys tend to have similar values so it could be environmental of genetic
 
I'm the only gay my parents know of in both my parent's families.
 
I've always suspected at least one of my cousins in each family to be gay, and there is quiet a bit of evidence to support it.
 
Yes, on my moms side, I have an uncle who is gay, and a great-uncle who is also gay, and of course, I am too. So yeah, I think it does run in families.
 
I have a friend who is oldest of 5 brothers ( 2sets of twins) and all 5 are gay.
My ex was 1 of 10 brothers and only 2 were gay.
I know in genetics if 2 blue eyed people reproduce their offspring will all have blue eyes.
If 2 brown eyed people have children, their kids can have any eye color because altho brown is dominatant they can also carry recessive genes.
But since a gay couple can never reproduce a genetic link can probably never be conclusively proven.
