  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Does Race/Gender really matter to you when it comes to the family doctor?

The whole family usually adopts a doctor, so if there's one immediate family member not comfortable with whatever (which may be language)....

I tend not to care what sex or race they are. However, I do have an incredibly strong fantasy about being seduced by an attractive doctor during an examination.

If I were really into making that fantasy a reality--and I doubt that I am--I might be more discerning in the demographics of my physician.

I would rather a male because I would feel more comfortable being examined by someone who will least likely have a sexual interest in me

This has gotta be one of the weirdest things I've read on jub in a long time. If I were your doctor, I think I'd be pretty creeped out.

My doctor is male and straight, and he is terrific. I think I would prefer a male over a female, but will cross that bridge when it presents itself.

Don't care about race at all. I wouldn't feel comfortable with a female doctor, though.

I don't care about anything EXCEPT the gender of the doctor. I prefer men; I'll gladly go to a female that I trust if I meet one by accident. I just trust men more - especially in the sense that I feel comfortable in having a direct conversation (you know: man-to-man). Also, guys tend to do favors for other guys such as give you prescriptions that you otherwise would not get, ahem, ahem.
I had a female dermatologist once and she did not seem to take me seriously so unfortunately that may have triggered my discrimination of females. But, I can't really talk to women either way whether in the doctor's office or in life so men look like the best option for me.

Race & Age don't matter, But depending on why I'm there, In some cases such as a physical I would feel more comfortable with a woman or like a rectal exam, otherwise black, white, mixed, one arm, 1/2 an index finger it dosen't matter as long as I feel better

Belonging to a HMO, seems like every time I go I have a new doctor. The last time the guy was Asian, the time before white. I really don't care as long as they listen to what I have to say. When selecting a doctor, I usually give strong consideration to where they went to medical school. Never had a gay doctor, at least not that I knew of. Did have an interesting coincidence once. 1200 miles from where I went to junior high, I randomly ended up with a doctor that I had gone to junior high with. What are the odds of that happening?

Race I dont' care.. I've had an Indian doctor, a Japanese doctor, a few white doctors.

but they HAVE to be men and I would prefer them to be gay, although if they're familiar with gay men's health issues, they can be straight.

There's no way in hell I'd go to a female doctor ever. I'd sooner just let the flesh eating virus swallow me whole.

I'm multi-mixed, so I don't think I count as I'm many races in one. :)
