Does the democratic party really want the AA vote?

Soledad O'Brien has it right when she said that the media has normalized this kind of crap...normalizing racism for the ratings.

...and now it is spreading......

What's wrong with the African American Community going Republican?

You aren't even asking the right question.

I stand by my response on post #29.

To even try to explain anything would be casting pearls.

Given all of the Republican states passing "ID laws" that specifically targeted African Americans from voting at all, you must be joking, or just a troll. Either / or, doesn't matter really. Go find a bridge to live under.

They did not target AFrican Americans. That is just the democrat party talking point. There is mo way to have honest elections without IDs.

The MO way to have elections requires sequins!

In the North Carolina case, the 4th Circuit panel agreed with allegations that North Carolina’s omnibus bill selectively chose voter-ID requirements, reduced the number of early-voting days and changed registration procedures in ways meant to harm blacks, who overwhelmingly vote for the Democratic Party.

“The new provisions target African Americans with almost surgical precision” and “impose cures for problems that did not exist,” Judge Diana Gribbon Motz wrote for the panel. “Thus the asserted justifications cannot and do not conceal the State’s true motivation.”

Well noted. A revelation that surprises me. I appreciate that I should not be surprised by Republican tactics.

All over the South there used to be voter suppression aimed at Black people. There were Poll Taxes that had to be paid before you could vote, Literacy tests that Black people had to pass before they could register - of course no Black people were allowed to see how the tests were graded. The ever popular question of identification. Voter intimidation was rampant, from hostility from the clerks at the Courthouse, to lynching by the Klan.

This is why we have a Voting Rights Act, and Southern states were required to submit any changes to voting laws before they were implemented, which is of course now gone, and what is the first thing the 'Pubs did when that was tossed - voter suppression against Black people.

Unless Ben is shovelling up another load of horse manure, he's saying that no Republican has been honestly elected in the past 100 years.

Ben got the latest Memo from his overlords and they told him to push the voter suppression thingy.
