Does your family have family reunions?

Yep! We do have it one every few years, i think. the last one was few days before July 4th of last year

nope. it seems like the only time my family comes together where everyone meets up is at a funeral or something. :##: the last time there was serious family gathering was when my father's half brother died. whatever family he had left that i know of met at his old place to talk about my uncle since there was going to be no funeral of him (his body was elsewhere). haven't seen my uncle since 2002 anyways. found out that i have dozens of cousins that outthere that i still haven't met yet and probably will never meet at this point in another country.

We used to but as our parents have died off, none of the cousins seem to be interested. When I was young, my brothers and sister and I were the only ones who didn't live in the same town as the rest of the cousins and it was a great thrill to go to the reunion and play with all my cousins, It also didn't hurt that several of my great aunts were fantastic cooks and the food was always great.

Three times that I can remember. I hated it each time; so boring.

Yes quite often tbh. Since most of my family live in the same city. Kinda don't like it. It's exceptionally painful when you are still single. Makes you think something is wrong with you :dead:

Being far east asian, all my blood kin hail from one village, so in the past, during Chinese New Year, we'd see people from all corners of the world gather together to celebrate in the village. That is, we who are descendents from a common progenitor 12 generations ago. But since my father's death, we only do the occasional immediate family gathering. Now mum's gone, we probably will go our separate ways.

I wonder what a modern day family reunion looks like.

I imagine younger kids playing their pocket pc games, older kids moping around and/or twitching to the sounds coming from their ear-bugs, lots of folks talking on their pocket phones, and laptops everywhere tuned into facebook/etc.

ElroyAuto has reunion with his dad every night.

As they're scattered around the world, it only happens when a grandparent dies, and they're all dead now.

No, but groups of relatives would gather each holiday and sometimes for family picnics too, but that was only a part of the family. As older people have died off, we have broken into smaller groups for holidays and I don't see distant relatives.

Yes, yearly. About half the time we attend.

Oh gosh no!! No one in my family can stand eachother, so what's the point? They just gather at funerals and fight about the money left behind.

No. My family only gets together for funerals. I haven't seen some of my siblings in years. Both my parents are dead.

Yup,and we try to go often as possible.

Unfortunately yes.
Too many fucking relatives I don't give a shit about..............

Every so often during the holidays...yes. As long as my schedule allows for it, I usually attend them and look forward to attending them, with the major exception being my stepdad. He and I don't get along.
