About a year and a half ago, I rescued an aussie cattledog that was dumped. Name was Romeo. He was about 7-8 years old.

About 3 years ago, I rescued a pitbull puppy and we named him Rocky.

Here is a picture with them playing in the leaves last fall.

For the last year and a half, they've been living together, eating together, and sleeping together. Well, they got into a fight while we were gone and the Rocky killed the Romeo.

I just buried the Romeo out back. We washed the blood off of Rocky. Now what?

We have agreed to put him in a cage whenever we are not around. We still have 2 corgis and a chihuahua. And 3 cats. I mean... what now?

I'm very sorry to hear that. I'm sorry to have to say it, but if I were you I'd have Rocky euthanised immediately.

It's an ugly situation. My condolences.

Keep Rocky in that cage all the time. Things can happen fast, right under your nose even. Keep him in there and schedule a veterinary appointment asap for him. Did they fight much before? If not, there may be a medical reason for Rocky's aggression. Finding that out would be your first step.

You might also try changing his name from Rocky to Tulup.

Sorry I couldn't resist.

I'm sorry to hear about you losing Romeo, my condolences. As for what to do with Rocky, I'm not sure I have the best advice. I'd talk to your vet and see what he suggests. If he needs to be kept separate from your other pets, then that's what you'll have to do.

Sorry about your dog loss and if your other dog the one who attacked him when you go out maybe put him in the cage

Sorry but once they have tasted blood they want more.
You need to rehome or euthanise Rocky

You need to report this to the vet and have him evaluated.

Just caging him when you aren't home is not going to work.

You have no idea if he will turn against you or some other human at this point.

Obviously he is one of the unstable pitbulls that have atavistic mental health problems.

He's been like this since the incident. Think he's sad of what he did?

Sorry to hear about your dog.i was like that the first time I killed. The dog's are fighting for their place in the pac. If the animal still has his balls then he produces the hormones needed to be alpha. I have two boxer lab mixed and two brothers that are Staffordshire terriers ages 14_7_the brothers are 5 all fixed never a problem. Don't use a cage and they are alone 6-8 hrs a day. Don't cage him, re-home him to a one dog house.
