I have been thinking about getting a dog. The breed of dog I want is a medium sized dog with short legs. If you think you know the breed I am talking about will you post a picture with its name so I can get some info on it?

Thanks.

Well your description doesn't really narrow it down much ;)

That’s kind of why I am having such a hard time getting info on them. They are medium sized dogs with medium length hair, and a short legs. I think they kind of look like a Lassie dog but shorter.

Any ideas? And yes I know I am not being all that helpful, that’s why I need help.

I believe you are referring to a Shetland Collie, or Sheltie. That sounds like what you are describing.

I looked them up and it was close, but the dog I am thinking of has shorter hair and legs. It also doesn't have mane hair.

How about a Corgi......:)

Thats it. I looked everywhere and couldn't find a picture that matched, but you did.

Thank you.

Any idea around what one costs?

Not a clue what they cost.Sorry.....But thats the first dog I thought of when you said short legs.I would imagine a pure bred pup will be expensive though. They are cute when they run, cause their legs are so short......:)

I have been think of either a Corgi, Cocker Spaniel, Rottweiler, or a pot bellied pig for awhile now. A Corgi, or pig would be my first choices.

By the way that is such a cute picture.

A brother of mine had a pig,and now has a Cocker Spaniel. He got rid of the pig,who was a bit nippy(biting)with fingers whenever he smelled food. The Cocker Spaniel is absolutely an adorable sweet dog, when raised by someone who loves them. You can always check out your local Animal Shelter for the heck of it.You might fall in love with something there.......

I will check out the Shelter before I get anything. My mother's ex-girlfriend had a Cocker Spaniel named Fred that I loved. He was blind so he was slow when called, but he was a great friend. My mother's ex-girlfriend also had a pig for awhile until her Rott got it. It was cute. That is why I am thinking of those, but I think a Corgi would be nice.

Please visit your local dog shelter. Many people have no choice but to put their beautiful healthy young dogs up for adoption because of unexpected circumstances. Pet shops/breeders can charge anywhere between $500 to $1000 dollars. You can save so much money at a shelter and save a loving pets life!

Remember, Corgis and Shelties are herding dogs so they will try to snap at your heels at times. It's instinctive. They do this a lot with small children. They aren't meaning any harm just trying to get them going. When you buy a pure bred dog, make sure you research the breed carefully. All have pros and cons.
