On Wednesday, August 14th, we lost Charlie-bear. A date I will forever share with my birthday. A date where I hope to always spend with loved ones. And for that, I’m grateful.
You were, and will always be remembered as, a character. The one who greeted me nearly everyday for the past eleven and a half years with unconditional love and happiness. The one who was there to calm my sadness, fears and anxieties. The one who was always behind my right shoulder for countless road trips. The one who never understood his, albeit agile, 65 pound frame couldn’t fit in every nook and cranny. The one I never had to worry whether he’d be a good dog - because he was just that - a good one.
So here’s to Charlie-bear, more than a dog or pet to me. He brought endless amounts joy and laughter to many. Charlie’s life was a gift to me. His death, will be a greater one. And for that, he will forever be my number 1.

^ Our German Shepherd graciously allowed us to share her 17 yr. with us. Though we had to say, "So long. See you later.", many years ago, there is still a hole where she used to be. Our old house has it's own set of noises, but there are still times when we hear some that were distinctly hers. She was, and shall always be, a part of us. She made us better people. We had many animal friends before, during, and after, her. She was uniquely special.
Here's a Shep with her/his Lucky friend ...
