Donald Trump's Wall

^^ Knew a German couple years ago. They immigrated to the US. He was originally from East Germany. He made it over the wall, but was shot by the East Germans patrolling the wall.

It will cost up to $15 billion to build a wall between Mexico and the US, but how much is it going to cost to patrol it?

Probably less than it costs now.

But would your friend have made it through a minefield though?

When are we going to get a wall between the U.S. and Canada?

No. By our laws, I am right and you are wrong. And everyone else who claims that Ted Cruz is Canadian is wrong as well.

No brag. Just fact.

But, you're going to go on believing you are right, so you just go ahead and remain ignorant. I was willing to teach, but you are obviously unwilling to learn.

I'm not ignorant.

It's complicated. He is Canadian, just he was able to sidestep into being an American citizen. So technically he is both. But based on his history, he's more Canadian. So it's an agree to disagree thing. He can say he's not Canadian all he wants, but he is. He however was able to sidestep into being an American citizen in which he was able to bend the rule of running for president.

I also like how you ignored the other gripe we had, and that will forever be unresolved I guess. Fair game.

How did this turn into a Cruz thread? I thought it was about the wall? How about we get back on topic and leave the Cruz hate for a thread in CE&P

Drumpf: Mexico will pay for the wall.

Mexico: You wanna fight? Stick your head up your ass and fight for air.

There's no way in hell that Drumpf can make Mexico pay for his wall. And $15 billion sounds to damn cheap to build a wall the length of the US/Mexican border.

"The wall" is red meat for the baggers.

Nothing at all to do with the context. All of that is dismissive bullshit. I inherited a big sum of money from my fathers death. Does that make me evil? No it doesn't.

The context became Donald Trump and his merits the moment you dismissed the wall being the actual topic of the thread. So, if you choose to make the thread about his qualifications and character, that is valid ground.

Far from dismissive bullshit, the observations are dead on. His fortune began as inherited wealth, meaning he didn't build himself up by his own merits, other than birthright. Then he speculated and exploited gambling, a vice only a little less ignoble than that of drug pusher, capitalizing on the weakness of the poor more often. On top of that, he has been a builder and backer of more-than-dubious bankrupt developments and a pseudo school.

He's never served in public office, authored legislation, formed a coalition, led a team that he didn't employ, or been a public servant of any kind whatsoever. The levers of power in private industry are wholly different than the skills of a president: diplomacy, leadership, statesmanship, coalition-building, largess, humility, compassion, slowness to overreact, and an innate respect for diversity.

Trump's much-observed campaign has been a veritable showcase of anti-qualifications: braggadocio, crude, mean, bullying, insulting, brash, unlearned, divisive, recanting, arrogant, and kneejerk. When a foreign power moves to block his entry to their country, our longest and strongest ally, one cannot but take note of the world's opinion.

He has said not one thing that was racist. Has he been inappropriate at times and has said things that were misunderstood, yes absolutely. Every person running for the presidency this year has.

To the contrary, he has portrayed the Hispanic immigrants as criminals and rapists. His statements have not be misunderstood. They are plain for anyone to read and understand. The baseness of his character leaps from his attacks followed by denials and name calling. It's simply impossible for his to stay on topic, as he invariably digresses into personal insults.

And it is exactly his low level of comments that has eventually drawn some of the rest of the pack to that nadir.

Ted Cruz is Canadian, and he has just found a flaw in the system which is him being "anchor baby" to the United States. Obama's childhood is much to be disputed and it's convoluted. So both claims are understood.

Are you actually arguing that there is some seditious or subversive component to Cruz's birth? Is there something innately virtuous for being born on American soil for serving as president? Phrasing it as a "flaw" suggests that you find Cruz's birth as relevant instead of his views and abilities. Or is it just a case of him stealing an American job?

Disagree. This woman can't even keep a secure government email address safe without someone hacking into it. How can we trust her as president?

That dog won't hunt. Nothing came of it. And, the lameness of parading it in front of Congress only served to provide Clinton the arena to behave presidentially and whip those little dogs butts and send them packing. It was a true embarrassment to behold.

He's not bigoted or racist. Carly Fiorina probably deserved it. If you work in Entertainment or in the limelight, this is what you fucking signed up for. If I were an actor you can talk shit about me all you want. Any news is good news sweetheart.

Unless Fiorina had herself departed from on-topic debate to attack personal appearances, there is nothing she could have done to "deserve" the insults. A debate is an exchange of views and positions, not calling your opponent "dick breath" or "lardo." Actually insulting another person on such a basis is an instant non-starter for a head of state. If the same juvenile behavior follows the man, he would absolutely be forced to apologize while representing the People. It would be almost unprecedented in our history. And Mr. Trump early on indicated he doesn't apologize. In other words, he can't be wrong. Move over, papal infallibility.

Excuse me. This was clearly a Trump bashing thread and I'm not gonna stand for it. You're allowed to have your opinions of Trump, like I'm allowed to have mine. I'm clearly not alone either.

No, dismissive bullshit is about right. Yes he inherited the family business, he also continued it and let it run on to be successful.

I also disagree that being he owned casinos that makes him a deviant. Casinos are a big investment and are good for tourism and business. Going bankrupt, he was able to bounce back from that. The school he ran, he settled that in court.

Dismissive. I work in a hardware store. I have worked there for the past few years or so. I had no experience working in a hardware store before then. I went to school for something totally unrelated; journalism and I interned for an advertising company before I was let go from that.

You want to know how I got the job? Because I taught myself plumbing, I taught myself how to take apart appliances, I taught myself electronics repair.

You don't have to have political experience to be a politician. You just have to have political knowledge. That is what Trump has.

We are all different. If we all acted the same wouldn't the world be boring?

See that's exactly what the issue is. People label him as bigoted and racist when he isn't. There are individuals from South America that are doing illegal stuff. I'm sorry, but you cannot call a rose by another name. They are human trafficking young women, they are trading drugs and weapons, doing god knows what is else.

He was clearly talking about those that are being unlawful. Trump has no issue with those that come into the country legally for school and for work. Sadly he is misunderstood. Those who do come illegally for non criminal reasons are not off the hook either. He isn't talking about them, but they have to be here legally.

I was just like you. I totally thought Trump was this racist jerk. However my boss came to work with a Trump hat one day and it got me intrigued. So I did my research. Trump isn't racist at all and I totally see where he is coming from.

Look I'm a gay African American male. If Trump were racist, me of all people would be able to decipher and analyze that. He isn't.

This is America right? We have free speech correct? To me honestly, it depends on the context. I'm sure he wouldn't talk that way to children and he won't. If people want to tango with him, he's going to defend himself. The country seems to agree as well. It's just apart of our generation and time. Trump seems to realize that.

To me, the question is if this nation if it so desires has a right to build a wall on its border with Mexico.
The purpose of the wall would not be to keep our citizens captive, but in theory to control our southern border.

Laying aside who pays for it, the question is Do we have the right? If we are a sovereign nation then of course we have the right to control our border.

What needs to be asked is if this is another manufactured crisis or if it is an actual problem that needs to be dealt with and if the wall is the way to go.

I guess that we could have a virtual wall, kind of like our virtual economy. How has that been working?

^From over here, not very well....;)

As to the wall and it's supporters. Really! and i do mean Really!!!!!!

Another Trump bashing thread. Fuck off.

It's not Nazi Germany to want your country safe.

The amount of young girls being human trafficked, drug trades going through there, so many undocumented people abusing the system for negative purposes.

It's making the people that came to this country legally look bad.

That wall needs to be built fucking ASAP.

Its also not nazi germany its not even one country. Mexico is a country. America is another. Nobody is saying build a wall to divide America.

Excuse me. This was clearly a Trump bashing thread and I'm not gonna stand for it. You're allowed to have your opinions of Trump, like I'm allowed to have mine. I'm clearly not alone either.

Some opinions are better expressed than others. Not all opinions are equal.

No, dismissive bullshit is about right. Yes he inherited the family business, he also continued it and let it run on to be successful.

He's been bankrupted several times and has a net worth of questionable value. How many other people would be in a better financial position given the same opportunities?

I also disagree that being he owned casinos that makes him a deviant. Casinos are a big investment and are good for tourism and business. Going bankrupt, he was able to bounce back from that. The school he ran, he settled that in court.

Find a casino that has not been involved in organised crime, illegal prostitution and money laundering.

Dismissive....

You want to know how I got the job? Because I taught myself plumbing...

I wouldn't employ you to redo my kitchen on that basis.

You don't have to have political experience to be a politician. You just have to have political knowledge. That is what Trump has.

It takes a level of ignorance to believe that the roles others perform are simple. Would you let Trump engineer a road bridge? He has construction knowledge...

We are all different. If we all acted the same wouldn't the world be boring?

At various points in history, rhetoric similar to that used by Trump was mainstream.

See that's exactly what the issue is. People label him as bigoted and racist when he isn't. There are individuals from South America that are doing illegal stuff. I'm sorry, but you cannot call a rose by another name. They are human trafficking young women, they are trading drugs and weapons, doing god knows what is else.

So you believe that US citizens do not have any involvement in such activities? Where do you believe the demand comes from?

He was clearly talking about those that are being unlawful. Trump has no issue with those that come into the country legally for school and for work. Sadly he is misunderstood. Those who do come illegally for non criminal reasons are not off the hook either. He isn't talking about them, but they have to be here legally.

I believe Trump is sufficiently eloquent to get his message across and his message is resonating as intended. He would be at pains to correct false impressions otherwise.

I was just like you. I totally thought Trump was this racist jerk. However my boss came to work with a Trump hat one day and it got me intrigued. So I did my research. Trump isn't racist at all and I totally see where he is coming from.

I have no doubt your boss is flattered you follow his lead.

Look I'm a gay African American male. If Trump were racist, me of all people would be able to decipher and analyze that. He isn't.

You assume you're a good judge of character.

This is America right? We have free speech correct? To me honestly, it depends on the context. I'm sure he wouldn't talk that way to children and he won't. If people want to tango with him, he's going to defend himself. The country seems to agree as well. It's just apart of our generation and time. Trump seems to realize that.

I've seen Idiocracy.
Didn't realise it was a prophecy.
I believe you are misguided, but you have every right to be.

Excuse me. This was clearly a Trump bashing thread and I'm not gonna stand for it. You're allowed to have your opinions of Trump, like I'm allowed to have mine. I'm clearly not alone either.

I think when you go on the attack and tell someone to fuck off because they have made what YOU presume to be an anti-Trump thread....you have lost any credibility from the outset.

We all understand that you are a Trump supporter. And probably about the only one here. And you are entitled to those opinions.

But you need to get your anger and attitude in check there.

The Constitition requires the Federal government to protect the states from invasion. It is the most important duty it has. It should do its duty instead of meddling in things that are none of its business, such as education, health care, welfare, road building. If it takes a wall, then do it. Otherwize we have an army. The problem is, Hussein is on the side of the invaders against Americans. He needs the invaders to swamp our democracy as soon as they can vote.

You think building a wall protects America. You have an excellent grasp on their historical effectiveness.

If you think government is only for defence, then I think your preferred method of government is actually a very specific form of libertarianism, one that I can't recall ever being used in a functional country outside of war times.

^You really do yourself no favours mate, by referring to the POTUS by his middle name all the time. It only shows how close minded you are.

EDIT.

Apologies to Kabluey, my post was meant for Ben.
