JUST to WARN you before you MAKE a HUGE MISTAKE!!!

I've BEEN a customer of theirs for 12 YEARS!!! I've been getting A LOT of dropped calls these last couple of months -- SO -- I decided it was TIME to CANCEL their service and try ANOTHER carrier...

UNFORTUNATELY -- due to NO FAULT of my own -- I'm LOCKED in a CONTRACT until DECEMBER...

SO -- I CALLED THEM...

I EXPLAINED that back when CINGULAR bought AT&T -- THEY FORCED us to buy NEW phones...

THEN -- WHEN AT&T BOUGHT CINGULAR BACK -- WE WERE FORCED AGAIN to BUY NEW PHONES!!! :grrr:

AT THAT POINT -- we didn't feel like paying full price again -- and -- 22 months ago --did the 2 year deal (the ONLY time I've been in a CONTRACT in 12 YEARS)...

WELL...

GUESS WHAT -- they AREN'T GOING TO BUDGE 2 months to make us HAPPY...

EVEN THOUGH -- Going into this -- my plan was to TRY the new carrier (Verizon) -- and if it WASN'T BETTER coverage -- to go BACK to AT&T!!!

THEY DON'T WANT ME BACK...

They'd RATHER SCREW me for the 2 MONTHS -- and say goodbye FOREVER...

WHAT SHORT TERM THINKERS...

THE MOTHER FUCKERS...

ANYWAYS -- They don't understand that they are in a SERVICE industry -- which ALSO happens to be VERY competitive...

I've GOT OPTIONS...

SO -- Instead of paying their STUPID $175 termination fee -- I'll DROP DOWN to their LOWEST LEVEL PLAN (2 months equals $80) -- THEN CANCEL...

THEN...

LEAVE THEM FOREVER!!!

PLUS -- I'll TRY and CONVINCE my partner to SWITCH our HOME service AND Internet AWAY from AT&T ALSO...

:confused::confused::confused:

I agree. I can't believe the amount of dropped calls I get, especially in the areas with the most reception. It's ridiculous.

I was very upset with T-mobile because my cell phone broke 1 week after the year was over

And I had been paying a monthly 'insurance', so I said, get me the new phone, I have insurance

They said I had to pay $80.00 to get the new phone.

the old phone had cost me NOTHING!

So I complained and complained, until they told me to send an e-mail to the CEO of the company

I did, expecting nothing, and got my replacement cell

for nothing

I cancelled my 'insurance' payments

I just got a Verizon phone

I almost went with AT&T

Now I am glad I didn't

When I had ATT and they switched to Cingular, I didn't have to get a new phone. To avoid having your contract renewed, the best thing to do is buy the phone at full price.

I think the AT&T service in Boston, is pretty sketchy. I have Verizon and my B/F had AT&T.

His cell phone didn't work in his apartment(Brookline), mine did.

As a side note, I have only had 3 dropped calls/dead spots. Surprisingly, 2 were only a 1/2 mile from my apartment. Belmont( a certain spot only) and Winchester.

Most of mine have been in Watertown which is right beside Belmont. I guess it's just a really bad spot.

ACCORDING to CINGULAR -- they used a different platform -- and gave us something like a 60 day grace period to comply...

THEN...

CONGRESS or SOME POWER -- changed ALL platforms to something like TDMI or some other initials when AT&T bought Cingular back...

THAT required ANOTHER phone change for us...

THIS CONTRACT is the ONLY TIME I've been in a contract with AT&T for 12 YEARS!!!

ITS the ONLY TIME I didn't pay full price...

A couple of months will pass quicker than you think.

Don't stay with them no matter what they promise!

If you do go with Verizon, I would get this phone:

Same boat here. AT&T sucks Moose dick! I've been a customer for about the same amount of time and every time I have to call Customer Service, it's been a battle. I'm waitin patiently for my contract to expire.

it depends on your area i think... like, when i was in NYC i had verizon thank goodness.... cause that's the only real reliable one in NYC cause my friends had like ATT/sprint they were terrible... but now im in FL again and i swiched to ATT and it's fine for me. as for the customer service i don't really think you can expect much from a mega-conglomerate; they lose a lot of their customer service to save money.

It is SAD to see that SOME DON'T EXPECT customer service from a SERVICE company...

I HOPE that you NEVER have any problems...

you'll get over it.

I have both AT&T for the Iphone for personal use and a Verizon phone that I use for my business; both suck in their own way. AT&T works where Verizon doesn't and vice versa. What surprises me is AT&T works in my area in the most obscure locations. Personally I think all wireless companies suck in their own ways. I have had issues with both Verizon and Sprint, Sprint being the worst and I just talked to a fella today who was bitching and moaning about T-Mobile. I guess its just trying to pick the lesser evil

Contact your public utility commission for help with resolution of the issues you described.

Same here. My current phone, that I have had for almost two years, still says Cingular on it. I am waiting for the entire contract to be up. I have a friend who keeps upgrading her T-Moble phone and was going to change to AT&T and discovered she has 3 and1/2 year contract..lol

My worst cell phone experience was with Orange. I had a prepay plan, so they probably didn't care much about my business, but I really didn't care for th efact that they'd randomly delete my voice mailbox and change my automated cistomer service to German. (They offered service in English, French, Italian, and German. I speak three of those languages. Guess which one I don't speak...)

And on top of that, because it was a prepay plan, the only phone that I could get was the size of a fucking brick.
