Yeah, in the UK. Where I grew up in rural Atlantic Canada, a "bird" was a dick. I guess like "cock" since a "cock" is a kind of bird but we were either more generic or didn't want to expend extra energy making the hard "c" sound twice in a word.

(And in the UK, when you say "apples" you mean "stairs" and when you say "plates" you mean "feet." There's fucked up words everywhere.)
