i tried looking through the stickies but didn't find what I was looking for. There's also a lot of random advice that I really don't think is best to follow but am not sure.

Ok so I'm thinking of bottoming this weekend but it's been maybe a year since I last tried. I have never enjoyed it but I'd like to give it another shot and I kind of like this guy who's been wanting to top me.

Problem is I've never douched before and not sure how it works exactly. I know there's a small portable one you can bring with you so I'll probably get that. But a few questions:
What's the process?
Is it okay to douche a few hours after dinner?
How long does the process take?
Could I do it in his bathroom without him noticing?

There are some discussions about enemas in the All About Ass section. Important piece of information- enemas aren't necessary for most people however for those who have IBS or problems with bowel emptying, it's an option. It's also an option for those who are freaked out at the idea of poo and accidents that occasionally happen during sex.

Probably the biggest thing you want to do is avoid a big meals during the day. Avoid anything that tends to stimulate the bowel (including caffeine if you're sensitive to it) and anything overly bulky or anything that causes gas.

For most people, a disposable syringe enema (example brand name: Fleets) with water or saline is usually plenty of fluid. If there is any stool in the rectum (normally there isn't), then the idea is to irrigate the rectum and flush it out (think of it as gargling for the ass). If you're just getting fucked by the typical penis, that's all that is needed.

An image of what it looks like is below. It's about the size of your hand, so you can fit it into an overnight bag or dopp kit. Keep in mind that you have to dispose of the syringe afterward, so hang on to the cap and put it back into your bag afterward if you're uncomfortable leaving it in the trash at his apartment.

Typically, you just need to put a bit of lube either on your butthole or on the tip of the syringe, insert the tip all the way in and squeeze the fluid into your rectum (tip: squeeze the air out of the bulb before inserting- what goes in always has to come out). You leave it in until you feel a mild cramping sensation like you need to go (usually within a few minutes). Then you use the toilet like you normally would. It's normal for what you expel to be mostly water but if there are any pieces of leftover stool or mucus in the rectum, those are flushed out with the water.

Then you shower like you normally would.

Don't overdue it. Large volumes of water stimulate the colon and can often leak out later during sex. Don't worry if there's nothing other than water that comes out.

The enemas come in 2 packs. You might buy a 2-pack and test with the extra one before the weekend.

It's OK to douche a few hours before you get fucked. Don't eat a big meal just prior to the event. This causes the digestive system to start pushing stuff down into the intestines.

How long does the process take?

About 15 or 20 minutes. I use just plain water and flush out my anus three times. You will know you are clean inside when the water is clear when you push it back out.

Could I do it in his bathroom without him noticing?

I douched before I leave my house. I douche, shower, then go meet the guy. This way I'm clean inside and out.

If you never done it before, I think it's a bad idea to do it at his place on the day. Practice before your major day and you'll figure out how many times you need to do it to be ready. For some it takes an hour, for other a quick 15 minute douche is enough.

I'd also advise not using douches/enemas all the time, especially with straight-up water, because it'll damage the mucous membranes in your rectum/colon. That's why surgeons can't and don't use water when operating, water causes necrosis over time. Saline is preferably used.

Lucky I've never douched but I have got a pretty good idea of how what I eat affects things, and when I eat. I stay away from snacking on nuts for a couple of days. Same thing for berries with seeds. Also for me, things move along pretty much like clockwork. If I'm horny for my guy I'll even eat at a specific time because I can count on getting everything out of the way by a specific time an hour and a half or 2 hours later. After that I don't have to think about it for the rest of the evening.


Also I figured out my body loves the right mix of dairy and fibre, and I can usually tell from what was going on the last time I used the washroom whether it will be a good night for sex or not.

You have to judge based upon your own bowel habits.

As mentioned in my earlier post- there are some guys that have issues with bowel function (like irritable bowel disease) or just have hangups about poop. While the enema is probably unnecessary, it removes the stress associated with fear of accidents that occasionally happen.

For most people, a shower with soapy washcloth and a finger is enough to clean up and remove anything that might be in the general area.

Finally, something I know about! Free advice: less is more. Seems strange, butt....I used to douche the shit out my ass over a couple of hours. I found by trial and error that one good round til clean is really all it takes. Luke warm water....woosh! Love is in the air!

If I'm planning to get fucked then, I'll most likely douche ahead of time. However, since my babe is extremely spontaneous when fucking me --on the sofa, in the middle of the night, early in the morning, grabbing me when I walk by, etc. --douching isn't all that practical. Not douching hasn't ever really been a problem.
