Drag Queen, lewd remarks, kids' story hour, and LGBTQ public image problems

Also, this Miss Majesty Divine creature should have known better. My guess is that he did but didn't give a fuck because it was P.U.B.I.C.I.T.Y., which is all any of these omega entertainers care about these days.

As a member of the community, he should have realized that this reading was an excellent opportunity to present a positive image. But he didn't. And fuck him for ripping off and denigrating Divine's legacy by throwing "Miss. Majesty" in front of his name.
I worked with a drag queen many years ago and the endless sexual innuendos in the drag persona were annoying and tiresome and not at all humorous - same with most of her drag friends.

That's "humour" as usual, not only a gay-drag thing

Nah - I worked with alot of gay men over the years and none of them had the drag queen humor.
Because "humor" is never funny.
Seinfeld was not funny, standup comedy is not funny, sitcoms are not funny, drag queen humor is not funny, coarse "straight" humor, with that sort of outrageously filthy funny jokes are not funny, "dark humor" is not funny, people trying to be funny are never funny, let alone for whole shows, and the harder they, the worst it gets: that is why they ultimately rely on "delivery" and whatever aura, social prejudice, complicity, etc. that may serve to replace what is not in what is supposedly "funny" in itself.

But they devote so much time to hard-shit "fun", that every once in a while something truly "funny", no matter your idea of "funny", is bound to come out of all that effort.

You're probably right about that, but many of those performers are gay nevertheless.
Re the relation between Drag Queen Story Time and Pantomime, I think it's important to note that the former is intended for children whereas the latter is intended for a mixed audience of adults and children. The bawdy inuendo and double-entendres are for the adults and probably do go over the heads of the children in the audience. The whole purpose of Drag Queen Story Time is to educate and entertain children, so what's the purpose in asides meant for adults? Gratuitous and narcissistic.

Some of my best memories of primary school are of listening to my teachers reading chapters from books to the class. The teachers were largely nuns, and I don't recall any accompanying commentary, bawdy or otherwise. My favorite was about a boy who visits Mont Saint Michel with his family, sets out to explore on his own, gets lost and ends up finding a tunnel which takes him down into the mountain and leads him under the bay to emerge in the basement of a house in the town on the shore. I think of it when I manage--as I always attempt to do--to wander off the beaten path in historic buildings be they monasteries, churches, castles or houses.

As all humor is, just as I said above.
In any case, the purpose of this... event... wouldn't be also entertaining the adult who ARE THERE laughing at the bone remark, and shouting "PG, PG" after the goat expression? If it were truly an event for children there wouldn't be any adult "parental guidance being seen and heard more than the children". The "Kid-friendly" label in the Dailywire article seems most apt, no matter whether originally announced as such...

What is truly gratutitous and narcissistic is all this tempestuous controversy in a shot glass, thanks to those whose main or only purpose in life is dreaming of any possible way to present themselves as heroes against some evil power, and they are the ones using children to flatter their perverted sense of righteousness.

"I told you one day I would find some faint appearance of reasonability wrapping up my old same stupidest excuse to attack anything remotely gay and call it a family-sapping abomination".

Three golden excuses:

- public safety.
- public health.
- the children.
Quoted. For. Mother. Fucking. Truth.

Da chirrens da chirrens!

But any excuse to pat each other on the back for being less gay than the next kween, yes? :gogirl:

Come on Belly high-five me bish!

Evil does not exist for people, let alone children, until you point out it exists OR make it to happen to exist: by pointing out to your hated ones and throwing all your own shit on them. - Quotable quote.

I came to think about that recalling some "kid-friendly" show in Spain, featuring puppets voiced by a couple of guys playing in a pop group marketed to children, making sometime something like, say, a passing remark about "poppers" in front of an audience of minors (Prime Time starts at 11PM in Spain, the little girls living in the floor below right now do not stop chirping untilafter 23:00 or 23:30, and minors never go to bed before their parents if the next day is not a working day and they do not have to go to school, but that's beside the point now    ) without anyone publicly batting an eye, and letting us gay people being amazed by that in private... because nobody was yet interested in baking up a moral and political issue out of it.
Like when, decades (already!) ago, in the awakening of society in Spain, someone would care to raise hell (in a "conservative" journal, obviously) out of a midnight broadcast (back when Prime Time in Spain started at 21:00) that nobody had seen (let alone children) because of some funny lyrics being howled by a female punk band, something like: "you come talking to me about love, allow me to give you my opinion on that, you go get it up your ass... I enjoy being a slutty bitch, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you fucktard!.. I prefer to fuck with CEOs, I get their money, then good riddance... I enjoy being a slutty bitch, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you fucktard!.. my wholehearted wish is to give a loving peck on the tip of the dick of that old fart pig Lou Reed... I enjoy being a slutty bitch!
