Drinking boxed wine after the expiration date

^ The expiration date doesn't mean anything other than the product cannot be labelled 'fresh' anymore (or that guarantees are voided). . . within reason, of course.

Oh, and wine will pretty-much become vinegar if left to ferment. It won't hurt you, but it will taste horrible long after you've drank it.

Well I know at the liquor store I work at...we have to send back the boxed wine...not when the date says expired but when the boxes start getting "plump". When they start to balloon out that means that it isn't good to sell anymore cause the air in the bag is oxidizing the wine too much.

It was rather cheap (considering it's boxed), but I think I'm gonna go ahead and try some.
It was rather cheap? It's boxed, if you payed more than $10 for a liter I'm gonna fly out to wherever you are and smack you over the head with a wine bottle.

As a side note, my parents regularly buy boxed wine and wine sold in plastic bottles. I drink gin whenever I visit, needless to say.

Just to reecho what a dozen other people have said, I'd be more concerned that I was drinking wine out of box than whether or not it was past the best-by date.
