I drink a spring water from high in the mountains in the Nantahala Wilderness...

I'm thinking of switching after YEARS of drinking it however...

Just a few weeks ago -- I woke up a little hung over and grabbed one from the fridge and drank ALMOST ALL of it -- when this weird thing came out and hit my teeth -- I spit it back in and saved what little remaining water there was...

Its about 2-3 inches long gold/green/translucent in color and SLIMY!!!

I did NOT get sick -- and at this point we're wondering whether we should bring it to the Health Department -- or return it to the water company for analysis...

YUCK!!!

Definitely take a photo and send it to the company. It's a quality control issue they need to be aware of.

I went through a bottled water phase until it because cost prohibitive. I've switched to regular tap water and found it a lot more satisfying and hydrating, if that's even possible. I'm not that into sparkling mineral water, but I used to get still mineral water from the school canteen every so often which was really nice, but since it was flavoured and sweetened it was pretty much cordial.

Mineral water is supposed to carry many benefits. Magnesium is good for your bones, while other minerals help support your immune system. You can't go wrong really. San Pelligrino is the Coke of the mineral water world: ubiquitous, trusted and probably the most recognised mineral water around.
 
I have the occasional gulp of tap water. Otherwise it's whatever water the brewery uses.
 
I just drink tap water, but we do have really good well water here in the mountains. Many places aren't so lucky, and have nasty water...

A animal that is found in food and drink , especially strong coloured
ones and or slimy , should be checked out for your own good . ..|
 
I just drink tap water that has been filtered. I think that may be best and probably easiest, anyways. Wouldn't it be very expensive to get these water bottles imported and maybe not really worth it?
 
I drink well water that is filtered through the house water filter and filtered again at the kitchen sink. If I get the water from the fridge, there is a third filter. The water tastes great!

It's just snobbery, it really is. Water is water and the vast majority of bottled waters (at least in the US of A) are tap water anyway.

It's mainly a psychological thing, when people believe that bottled water is somehow better for them because it's bottled and comes from a spring. I'm sorry, but there's more important things to worry about than bloody water. lol

Where I live it is very chalky as there are a lot of cliffs around, but I really couldn't care less, it's not going to be the slightest bit detrimental to my health.

Tap water is hardly going to kill you, I don't know what the big fuss is about.

What's amusing is that in the USA there are hundreds of safety checks with over a dozen different tests required by law to be taken every day, if not every few hours, for municipal tap water. But for bottled water there are virtually no testing needed, and merely an FDA food license. In numerous studies it's been proven that tap is better than bottled in a generic sense. There were one or two brands that were consistently better or equal to the purity of tap water.

Best bet, buy a water filter pitcher to remove any chlorine or off taste your water may have and keep it in the refrigerator. Cheap, easy, very little plastic waste into the Eco-system.
 
Uhh i drink deer park and nestle.... it's just water ( though aquafina is disgusting and makes my throat tight sometimes ) Too much mineral water is bad for you, you hear of how good they are but not of vitamin poisoning which is the result of too much nutrients stored in the body and fat which makes it really hard to get rid of and can make you throw up, stomach hurt, etc..... though not sure how much you drink it can add store up over weeks if not used by the body
 
Bottled water is one of the biggest plagues for the eco-system with all the plastic waste that is left. If you're really concerned, buy a water filter and filter your tap water.

There is a spring near where I live. Some of the water that comes out is used as tap water, the rest is bottled and sold on. One cubic metre (1000l, approx. 265 gallons) from the tap costs me EUR 1.28 (yes, that's 1 euro and 28 cents, approx. $2), and that includes all taxes. One 1l of bottled water from the same spring (exact same water) costs approx. 50 cents. That is almost 400 times as expensive!!!

This. There's nothing wrong with tap water in the UK, so why pay for bottled water which is indistinguishable from the free stuff.
