Is there a difference in smoking a joint versus using a bong? Meaning health wise or effects etc.

Using a bong is less damaging on your lungs (but still damaging)
But if you're only trying it then you don't have to worry about any long term effects. Even short term.

I tried weed when i was 15, smoked it every so often until i was 17. I never really liked it but since I had friends who were really into it I would join in if I felt like it. Not out of pressure, just out of boredom I guess. I don't smoke it anymore and nothing negative has come out from my life because I did use to smoke it.

I social drink, I'm not really that much into alcohol either. But I still probably will social drink in the future as well.
It's all a part of growing up, its curiosity and experimentation. Kind of like oral haha, it's not really natural to do it but you want to try it because you're curious how it feels.

I have never done any type of drug, other than over the counter, like tylonol and advil and I used to take over the counter sinus medicine before I found out about nettle and neti pots. There was one time in my lifetime when I had to take antibiotics for about a week.

I have never been drunk and I do not drink now. I had a wine tasting class once and I have sipped on some drinks but I have just never been into it. It is really weird, I will buy some wine because I think that it tastes pretty good but then when it comes to drinking it.....I just never want it.....it never appeals to me enough to drink it.....so it just sits there or someone else drinks it.

Dude, Don't even think of starting; addictions are hard to break, and do more harm than good. Please stay away from that shit. Please don't.(*8*)

Why is it necessarily an addiction? I smoke weed and hash and I'm not addicted. It's purely recreational when I do smoke it.

You are not the OP or his friend. Just because you havnt become addicted doesnt give you any kind of ability to tell whether or not someone else who tries weed will develop an addiction, and even whether or not it could ruin their life.

When it comes to another person thinking of trying drugs for the first time, your own personal experience with drugs is not going to be the same for everyone else. Just because you do drugs and arent addicted doesnt give you the know how to go advising others on taking them and promoting their use.

That was not my point, sweetness. My point was that people ALWAYS assume you're addicted or will grow addicted when not everyone become addicted...I know a lot of people who aren't addicted just as I know a lot who are.
I was merely pointing out becoming addicted it's not always what happens. And my personal experience, plus some of my friends's experience, is proof of that and more than valid, not as advisement, but also as an example of a part of reality, in this context.

I'm no more able to tell if it will, or not, make the OP's friend addicted than you are. No one knows. We're not psychics.

As I said in another post this was not about me. It was about someone I care for and that I freak out when I think he may get hurt.

This was about me not knowing how to care for someone. Because of autism I haven’t had emotions for very long, so I don‘t know how to deal with them. I am over protective of him. I asked the questions to calm myself, too make sure he would be okay.
